Can anyone shed light on what type of player he is?

Ive always thought he was a defensive midfielder.

I've heard of him but don't know too much about him, I seem to remember Wolves fans rating him quite highly when he made his debut but I don't know whats happended since then.

Lets see what he can do.

Strange signing...

it means that now King, Berner or Oakley will have to be dropped... tbh, we have plenty of players to cover. If Oakley is injured then put Gradel right-mid or Adams, etc.

Very strange signing but so were the signings of Berner, Powell and Edworthy but they paid off and so I have all faith in Pearson to pull another one off here,

Who have we got as cover in central midfield then? Pearson seems reluctant to bother with Kish and Levi is off the radar even if he was ever on it as a central midfielder.

Berner still doesn't look like a natural central midfielder to me either.

Completely the right sort of signing I think.

Tough tackling midfielder apparently, Thracian won't be happy :giggle:

It is a myth that I don't like tough tackling midfielders. In my days as a semi-pro manager my central midfielder was a hod-carrier called Neil Stewart who was toughness personified. He could also play a bit.

Oakley is clearly injured and, at 20, Davies is likely to have the engine to hopefully fill the gap. Pearson deserves credit for acting quickly and for making sure that our squad retains sufficient options.

It also helps that he's worked with the player and knows his qualities. Presumably they include being able to pass and think.

Davies' arrival should keep all our central midfielders on their toes. It will also enable Berner to be used in other places if needs be.

He did a top job on Tuesday as a nasty defensive centre mid. Adams always looked as though he could cope with the role and King picks himself. I'd hardly have thought we were desperate for someone until the transfer window opens in January. :dunno:

I don't really rate Berner (despite his decent performances of late) and with Oakley injured, I think Davies is the right signing.

Well I beg to differ as I think Berner was just okay on Tuesday and didn't do enough to protect the back four for a lot of the game. Adams looks a bit lightweight for central midfield, particularly if paired with King.

We'll have to see how Davies gets on if he gets a chance.

The key for me is that we'd be a bit ****ed in central midfield if Berner got injured on Saturday and it'd be stupid to be in that position with our resources. May as well bring someone in if we can.

Agreed, King looked very fatigued to me on Tuesday and although Berner did a good job for the team I don't think he's natural in that position either. This guy will prove decent cover to which we don't have and will hopefully give Pearson something extra to think about with team selection.

Seems fairly logical to me. He should be a cover player for the one's we've already got playing at the moment, and if Bert says Oakley's injured then I'm all the more for it.

No idea if he's any good though.
