foxer Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 Martin - 7 Did what he had to to a decent standard Mattock - 7.5 A good game and great free kick Tunchev - 8 Solid as usual Hobbs - 7 Decent game, dominated in the air Gilbert - 7.5 Up and down and always getting stuck in Dyer - 6 Didn't do much at all King - 6.5 Not much of an impact, a couple of nice passes Berner - 6.5 Much of the same Gradel - 7 Better on the left in the second half, and a few nice deliveries Davies - 7.75 Really like this guy Howard - 4 Bag of wank. Won a few headers which lead to nothing. Constantly having a go at people for not doing what he wanted, and didn't seem to care. He just lumbered around. I'm not usually this critical of him, but he really irritated me today, not to mention his glaring one on one miss. Dickov - 6 At least he ran around a bit Adams - 6.75 Great ball over from right to left for Gradel, looked better than last week when he came on by a mile.

Bert Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 Martin 6 - Had little to do, good kicking apart from one woeful one. Gilbert 6 - Not up to scratch today, but still solid enough. Mattock 7 - Had a good game. Hobbs 7.5 - Our best defender, won everything. Tunch 7 - Standard Tunch performance. Gradel 6.5 - After his talking to, he seemed to play a lot better and had a reasonable game, better at left wing. Dyer 5 - Where's the early season form gone? Berner 5.5 - Did little. King 6 - Retained possession well today. Davies 7 - Everything positive went through him today. Howard 6 - Took a few knocks, should've scored, but worked very hard. Dickov 5 - Offside. Adams 5 - One nice pass, that's it.

No that miss remains in your head and is messing up your view on him because he did very well winning his headers. Had he not even had that opportunity that he missed then I know you'd have given him a lot higher rating.

Well it went something like this: Defence > Howard. What do you expect him to do when we play like this? He won virtually everything in the air, and was a real pain in the arse for Fonte. I'm not sticking up for his miss, that was shocking, but his overall game today was very good. He can hardly do a lot when he didn't have a proper strike partner, and when he did Dickov was constantly offside.

Would have made more sense bringing Porter on for Dyer, Seeing as Porter is comfortable on the left side. Instead of that useless Adams.

I've said it before to Bert, we're a lot weaker in midfield without Oakley. We miss him badly when he doesn't play. Let's just hope he's back for Orient next saturday.
