dandannieldanok Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 I'd like to see Davies at championship level before comparing him to Gudjonsson. I'm not saying Gudjonsson was particularly good but there is a clear difference in opposition quality between championship and league one.

Davies is class, he has the potential to be as good as Izzet. Gudjonsson hit form playing with a team of no hopers and a team lacking with confidence.

Anish Posted 12 January 2009 Posted 12 January 2009 I wouldn't say a bad word about Gudjonnson, he was a very good player for us and his long range shooting was sensational at times. I don't think many of us will ever again see a Leicester City player score from the halfway line so let's give him some credit. I'm sure he'd p iss all over League 1 defences too with the amount of time they give you in shooting positions, and the fact that he's a regular in the Burnley side that are doing so well shows that he is, at least, Championship quality. Davies looks terrific and in many ways has more about him than Joey, but Joey's long range passing, shooting and set pieces were outstanding.

I said he had the potential to be better than gudjonsson, meaning he could surpass him in terms of ability, which could eventually see him reach the levels of Izzet.
