Nick Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 Well, below are the total points records for the leagues over a season, top is 106 - Reading. Anybody think we'll get anywhere near? We stand at 54 today: POINTS Most Points in a Season (3pts for win) Points Club Season Division 106 Reading 2005/06 Championship 105 Sunderland 1998/99 Division 1 102 Plymouth 2001/02 Division 3 Swindon 1985/86 Division 4 101 York 1983/84 Division 4 Fulham 1998/99 Division 2 Fulham 2000/01 Division 1 100 Wigan 2002/03 Division 2 99 Manchester City 2001/02 Division 1 Northampton 1986/87 Division 4 Chelsea 1988/89 Division 2 Notts County 1997/98 Division 3
Monk Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 We won't get anywhere near Reading's record. However there is a possibility we could reach 100 points, which would be a massive achievement. Don't expect us to though!
Vardinhio Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 impossible, you can't get half a point. Even I know that
Lillehamring Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 Our current rate projects a total of 103.50. are you the new LWICD?
MC Prussian Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 are you the new LWICD? Speaking of LWICD - what happened to the fella? He applied for the Canadian Secret Service or what? Points total at the end of this season - enough to get automatic promotion. The last team to reach 100 points or more in League One was Wigan in 2002/2003. (Wigan, right? Aren't they in the Premiership now??? ) And before that, it was Fulham with 101 (1998/99). It's rather rare for a team to reach that many points in a season, but with the current form and the home streak, it's doable. Would certainly be quite an achievement to be proud of - at least getting out of this league in style.
StanSP Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 I think we'll get 100 exactly. not sure who we will drop points against though. Anyone think we will get more than a 100 goals??
leicester4eva17 Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 to be honest i dont think it matters how many points we get as long as we secure promotion it is all the counts1
lookwhaticando Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 Speaking of LWICD - what happened to the fella? He applied for the Canadian Secret Service or what? They won't have me, I'm not discreet enough. Or Canadian, for that matter. If I am, shoot me. Quick, someone fetch the gun.
Hitesh Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 Anyone think we will get more than a 100 goals?? No I don't. As long as we get promoted I don't really care how many goals or points we get!
Salieri Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 to be honest i dont think it matters how many points we get as long as we secure promotion it is all the counts1 Agreed on that and all this talk about breaking records makes me feel uncomfortable. Yes, we are in a very healthy position but theres still a long way to go. Luckily we have an excellent manager who is clearly not getting ahead of himself and just taking each game as it comes. Why have you only supported Leicester since last year btw? I hope you havent recently "changed allegiance" from another club!
Asha Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 I think we'll get 100 exactly.not sure who we will drop points against though. Anyone think we will get more than a 100 goals?? We still have some very tough away games...MK Dons, Peterborough, Millwall.... We still need to play everyone, except Leyton Orient. I think we'll drop more points this half of the season than last, but will still mean comfortable promotion.
lookwhaticando Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 I think we'll get 100 exactly.not sure who we will drop points against though. Anyone think we will get more than a 100 goals?? Fryatt's going to get 100 himself, actually. MATTY FRYATT
Ashley Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 Yes we will, fryatt will be the leagues top goal scorer aswell. Why didnt I have this bet at the begging on the season? I've been saying it since then
Ultra Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 Now that Tunchev is out for a while, we may have to revise our expectations a little. It's a good job we're not playing any other promotion contenders (Oldham apart) for a few weeks.
Thracian Posted 14 January 2009 Posted 14 January 2009 Rather than concerning ourselves with records I'd rather we got back to focusing on winning one game at a time and on trying to grow the gap between ourselves and third place. You win nothing in January.
Number 6 Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 I'd love to see it happen but it's a very tall order. We will have to try and take this run we are on as far as possible, possibly even remaining unbeaten if we are to top the record. Will see how we cope without Tunchev.
nickm Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 So what's the least number of points a team has won automatic promotion with out of this league?
Raj Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 could not give ONE FCUK about points record. I'd settle for us getting promotion with the LEAST number of points. In fact its this sort of topics(no offfence to topic starter ) that gets all our hopes high and then we do lose a game or so,people have knee jerk reactions and call for the managers head!!!

Agreed with Raj. The only thing that matters is getting promoted, however many points we pick up along the way. Doing what Forest and Leeds couldn't and going up at the first attempt will be pleasant enough ta.

Pearson out.
BoneDog Posted 17 January 2009 Posted 17 January 2009 I think we will go on a massive run and get 99-104 points. And I'm willing to bet £16.43p on it with anyone.
