Tom Cleverley Signs

Recommended Posts

Sound like a very good player. Anyone who gets nominated for Premier Reserve League Player of the Year has to have talent cos there's some very good quality players in those matches

"After half time Chris Eagles came on for Martin and 18 year old Tom Cleverley came on for Possebon and had a splendid half a game, though he had the advantage of playing in a confident, attacking midfield with much improved Carrick and Fletcher."

"Indeed, United were flowing now, Khune just saving Giggs’ drive and Rooney unable to bury the rebound, breathtaking control from Rooney for a Fletcher through ball, a great move between Cleverley and Giggs up the left, a beautiful cross from Rooney which Cathcart headed wide."

"A prolonged piece of United interpassing turned into something meaningful when Cleverley picked up the pace, gave it to Giggs and moved forward. Giggs raked a long ball right to Simpson who put in a high cross to the far post. There Rooney nodded it down and back into the area and Cleverley swept it into the net between goalkeeper and post; 61 minutes 3-0; a grand team goal."

Can't wait to see what the lad brings to our game.

A versatile player who can operate as a CM as well as in defence. And on top of that, he's got a fierce shot on him and has scored some belters for Man Utd reserves.

If Nigel Pearson's previous signings are anything to go by, then this fella will be a great addition to the squad.

Fantastic deal, thankfully come a long way from teams not loaning us players beccause we sent them back crap.

Feel a bit for any of our fringe players, hpoefully this with lift and spur them on rather than piss them off.

Fine balance between doing whats right for the development of our squad + getting in impact players to groom

There will be an agrrement that these players are used or returned

Brief cameo, but you can't rally argue with an assist. Doesn't he look like Nicky Adams from a distance though :giggle: ?

When he first came o he had some decent give and go one touch football on the left. He then was wide open in the middle a couple of minutes later and then two minutes after that passed to Joe. This kid is absolute quality.

Although he was on for a very brief period, you could tell he had that bit of quality. Apparently a midfielder who can play in defense, looked like he was playing upfront at first. Cant wait to see how he gets on here, although it may be hard to get in the starting 11 for him if he's a central midfielder.

Just been talking to a mate of mine who knows Tom (my mate only talks the truth) and he said that tom was looking forward to coming down here and playing, says its a big club with good fans and he wants to show he can play, like other loanees from utd have done before him.

Already looks like tom is going to be a good player.

10 mins 1 assist lets hope he can keep this up.

This guy will have to play regularly soon. Fergie only lends players out under the strict instructions that they play, if they don't play he recalls them.

We probably brought him here under the assumption that Davies is going back to Wolves in a week or two.

I had the same feeling, he seems like the same type of creative midfielder to Mark and listening to his interview on Leicester City World, he says he has settled in well and he's enjoying his time here, looks a good player and level headed, got a feeling that if Davies does leave at the end of his loan this guy could step up to the plate, but not getting too carried away yet!
