Anyone ever been? I'm going for 3 weeks in April, but might stop out there longer if I have the minerals.

I don't know how much cash I should be taking for it, my mate has been before but he's not reliable when it comes to gauging how much money to take as he got himself about 8 tattoos when he went last time so that probably set him back a bit.

The itinerary is as follows:

Fly to Bangkok, head straight to Koh Samui and Koh Pangnan, then on to Ko Pi Pi for a week and then work our way back to Bangkok and finish up there for a few nights.

I want to get leathered every day and experience as much as I can. So the budget might be extravagant.

Any information from anyone who has been, would be more than welcome.

I've been, spent 4 weeks over there, 1 week in Pattaya then 3 weeks in Koh Samui (Lami) , but it was over 9yrs ago and it would of changed alot i would of thought ?

We got over 80 baht to the pound back then so we could really go over the top.

I can't really give you any advise as i went so long ago, but one thing for sure though is you'll love it and have the best time of your life.

If you fancy a bit of diving when in KPP let me know my mate helps run a diving school and may be able to sort you out a deal.

Cheers mate, might well do that.

I keep promising to go out and see him but something else always crops up well that and the missus doesn't fancy Thailand

Should be a good trip and as long as you don't spend too much in Bangkok the money should go a long way.

get change from a fiver to eat out in quality resturants. drinks are cheap but stay away from the women there unless you want to bring a present back with you.

EDIT: to avoid confusion im talking about the prostitutes over there.

If you get the chance, head over into Laos......enjoy some BeerLao and LaoLao whilst floating serenly down a river.

Seconded. In fact if it were me I would scratch Flair's whole plan, get a bus from the airport to Chaing Mai and head for the border. Beer Lao is the best.

Thirded

I was in South East Asia for 3 months from October and Tubing in Vang Vieng, Laos was incredible. I'm still travelling at the minute in NZ and every traveller I meet who has been SE Asia talks about tubing as one of the best days of their trip.

You just float down the river in an inner tube and there are loads of bars with guys putting big long sticks out to pull you into the bars. Spend the whole day working your way down the river going to each bar. Each bar has its own rope swings, zip lines, slides and beer lao is really cheap its like a pound for a big bottle.

Get an overnight bus from bangkok to Vientiane, Laos then get a bus from there to Vang Vieng. You wont regret it pal!

Mrs and i had our Honeymoon in Bangkok and Phuket.

Visit some of the Temples i Bangkok and try and goto a Kick boxing arena(Think they are on Friday nights)

Just generally wondering around bangkok is great(But like all Big Cities have your wits about you!)

Its a very hectic bustling city,so its good your doing some chilling out later!

Your get some good bargains as you get good baht(currency!) for the pound!

Enjoy!
