Tuna Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 Bless im. http://www.nonleaguedaily.com/news/index.p...L&nid=55675 Trev has now signed for Kidsgrove Athletic in the Unibond Division One South. Kidsgrove is near Stoke by the way and this is the level that Quorn, Shepshed and Loughborough Dynamo play. Apparantly this is his 20th club and he's only just turned 30. Must be a record of some sort?
JoeyB Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 Cheers salmon I say we should sign him back up, good back up for ste!
Stevosevic Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 5 years ago he was in the premiership at a young age, strange how his career has mapped out.
allard7 Posted 18 February 2009 Posted 18 February 2009 wow serious downfull in his career, must be doing it for the love of football. Good thing is i could be playing against big trev himselff
Hitesh Posted 19 February 2009 Posted 19 February 2009 Oh dear, talk about a downward spiral. I'm sure you could make a film about this guy just about the amount of clubs he has played for! If he isn't careful then he will have played for more clubs than scored goals if he carries on at this rate!
Shrenchel Posted 19 February 2009 Posted 19 February 2009 fooking hell. Them boys must semi-pro at best no?! Reckon he's gunna do the night shift at Lidl?
J.Lisemore Posted 19 February 2009 Posted 19 February 2009 I can't believe this...he must be on about £50 a week ...if that
Sods Posted 19 February 2009 Posted 19 February 2009 I can't believe this...he must be on about £50 a week ...if that Definately more than that from a Unibond South Div 1 team. Probably 100 and something. Peanuts compared to what he used to get I imagine.
Father Ted Posted 19 February 2009 Posted 19 February 2009 Bloody hell. It was only last year he was banging in goals for Hereford.
ousefox Posted 19 February 2009 Posted 19 February 2009 He could still do a job at the very least at a conference side in my opinion.
Darkzzz_ Posted 19 February 2009 Posted 19 February 2009 He has certainly moved up from Wellingborough then. He was poor over there and according to a few of the players I know. It was only the summer that he was training with Kettering and they didn't want him at all.
Webbo Posted 19 February 2009 Posted 19 February 2009 I met a director of Tamworth on holiday a few years ago. He told me that their chairman wouldn't pay more than £500 a week to a player but some teams in their division paid more.
allard7 Posted 20 February 2009 Posted 20 February 2009 Theres a few teams in the league that will pay more than that, glapwell for example they have got a bigger budget. i would imagine he is on a conference wage packet, to attract a player that was playing in league 2 last season ?

davieG Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/86596 Hibs are considering a shock move for former Leicester City striker Trevor Benjamin. Mixu Paatelainen has been offered the chance to take the 30-year-old striker on trial with a view to short-term deal until the summer. The big targetman has had something of a nomadic existence since he moved to the Foxes nine years ago. Benjamin has played for 21 different teams, including Coventry, Peterborough and Northwich Victoria, and is a free agent after leaving Kidsgrove Athletic in the last window.

I was just about to post that! He never moved to Leicester 9 years ago?! MON never signed him, did he? I though Peter fooking Taylor signed him.

Wow, that was quick...even by Trev's standards .
Joe. Posted 28 February 2009 Posted 28 February 2009 Jesus, should update yesterday's article already.
davieG Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Tynesiders in chase for Benjamin Benjamin's form at Leicester earned him an England Under-21 cap Gateshead have offered a trial to former Leicester City striker Trevor Benjamin following a spell with Unibond League side Kidsgrove Athletic. Benjamin, 30, made his name with the Foxes in the Premier League, earning England Under-21 honours in his spell at Filbert Street. The Jamaica international has played for 21 clubs in his career, with 11 of those being on loan. Hereford were his last League club, they released him in May 2008. The Tynesiders are looking at Benjamin as a possible replacement for Lee Novak, who finally completed his move to League One side Huddersfield Town this summer. However, Benjamin was part of a Lincoln City side that played Hungarian side Ferencvaros on Saturday and is likely to base his decision on an offer from Peter Jackson's Imps. Meanwhile Gateshead drew 2-2 with Huddersfield Town in a friendly at the International Stadium on Monday, with Jamie Harwood and Carl Jones cancelling out strikes from Town duo Robbie Simpson and Phil Jevons.
FleckneyFox Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Read that earlier. He could do alot worse than Gateshead.
Ultra Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Could also do better, if Lincoln are looking at him. Don't be surprised if he starts the season in League 2.
