2008-2009 Highlights

What has been your best moment(s)?

For me, after twelve minutes at Walsall when Fyatt scored - not the goal, the snowball which appeared from the crowd and twatted the steward on his bald head.

Has to be Gradel's goal at MK Dons.

Other than that, the feeling when King's equaliser went in at Carlisle was awesome. So many times I've travelled to the other end of the country and not even seen us score. For Plymouth away 0-0, for Southampton away 0-1 and 0-2 twice, for Middlesbrough away 0-0, for Newcastle away 0-1, for Sunderland away 0-0, for Norwich away 0-0... seeing that net bulge at Carlisle was bloody brilliant.

There have been about 20 moments along those lines though, all away games too. S****horpe (twice), Orient (twice), Colchester, Cheltenham, Bristol Rovers (penalty save and final whistle too), Huddersfield (twice), Leeds, Yeovil, Northampton (twice), Walsall, Fulham (twice).

I've loved it. Now, in true Leicester style, I think we're going to **** it up and cling onto second place. Maybe that's just the ultra-cynical Leicester fan shining through, but I kind of want the season to finish quite quickly now.

Gradel's MK equaliser felt like a Wembley winner.

LL & Joe's iPod-fuelled crap disco to Hartlepool

Being stupidly drunk at Stockport

Fryatt's hatricks

Knowing that we were always going to score one more than Dagenham

The last two goals on Saturday against Cheltenham

Cheltenham fans

Holding on at Bristol in a Foxestalk-packed terrace

Waiting for a recovery vehicle at Fosse Park while the team stuffed Posh

Either the away days at proper grounds.

I have been to a few this season and it has to be either Maxy Gradel's goal at MK Dons or just demoloshing Cheltenham at Whaddon Road. :chant:

The lowest point for me was Rotherham away. As well lost and I live in Worksop it was rather negative.

Really haven't made it to the number of games I'd like to have this season so I'm not sure if I've had any moments that compete with the likes of Barnsley away last season which, in hindsight, was a hollow victory, but it felt incredible at the time.

I've managed to choose some quite frustrating games this season. Swindon away, Milwall at home, Oldham at home, Palace in the Cup amongst others. Even Orient at home when we won 3-0 was just boring for the most part. Gutted I've missed some of those classic aways people refer to, would loved to have been there.

So yeah, probably Orient away is the highlight for me. Nice sunny day, good atmosphere and a victory. Hoping that tomorrow will be up there though. Has got all the ingredients for a quality day.

Here's mine

Winning £160 on opening day thanks to Fryatt and 2-0 win.

Ripping my jeans, laughing at Soooper Stevie at Stocky.

Smashing a team 4-0 away at Cheltenham.

Scrambling a winner at Orient and then laughing at a football whacking an unknowing girl in the park next door.

Lloyd's lucky winner and the reaction of the Hudds fans.

The mauling of Peterborough with the media watching.

Watching us play Yeovil on the telly, knowing eventually we will score and we will win,

The comeback against Hudds.

60 minutes against Walsall of beauty in the middle of a freeze. I prayed that game would go ahead and it did.

Bunn's peno save at Brizzle Rovers which learnt me never to fall in love with a loanee and the subsequent 35 minutes keeping 'em out plus the groundsmen at the end.

Gradel's last-minute equaliser - most wild celebrations ever.

Best day out was Orient Away.

Train to the smoke, Guinness breakfast @ Punch & Judy, Covent Garden at 9:30am. Countless pubs before the match, arrived 10mins late and all piled into the gents for much need p*ss, only to miss opening goal.

Fantastic banter having taking over their stand. Smash and grab win!

Discovering pubs near Liverpool Street Station during post match celebrations (each one had a little lady taking all their clothes off and dancing )

Got back home at just gone midnight!

That had to be the most beers I have ever consumed in a day that included going to a game.

Probably the first day of the season, we made mk dons look stupid. Not an amazing game in itself but soooooooooooooo different to what we'd been seeing 3 months earlier!

For me, one has to be my first ever away game  against Walsall (shame on me being 19) we destroyed them, and I got to taste the atmosphere of an away day.

Bristol away aswell, the way we held on was amazing, and that feeling at the end!

MK aswell, that equilizer was immense, I really thought that the game was over!

(I see a recurring theme here!!! Away days!)

As for home, Peterborough was a fantastic game. The way we destroyed a team that had been unbeaten for a while was great.... super football too.

But I think there are still many potential highlights to come.... Peterborough (if i get a ticket) Leeds, if we won promotion that day...

But maybe one of my best highlights will come by looking at the League 1 table at the end of the day on May 2, 2009, seeing us in 1st or 2nd position, and kowing that we are back to some sort of normailty at LCFC

Making a 300 mile round trip to see your team lose 2-0 to Tranmere, whilst getting lost in Liverpool, getting into constant traffic jams on the M6 with horrible mancs still fun.

Been some good games but its games like that you will remember for a long time even though your team didn't win. And i would probably do it again next week if asked.

I think the final whistle on the final day will be the highlight. Its just not done it for me this season. I strongly suspect its because I only attend the home games and not the away. Its been dull.

to pick some out i would have to say

scunny - over celebrating on a freezing day out

beating peterborough at home aswell as the hudds comeback,

mk dons and gradel's wounder strike

watching the tunch destroy strikers

but as hairy rightly said, the highlight will be when the final whistle blows at the end of the season and the loan to this league is over.

The guy in front of me in L1 having a spider crawling up his neck on saturday was the highlight at home along with the Phil Taylor lookalike in the Posh end.

Away - Oldham, Orient and Cheltenham were all unbelivable days out as a whole.

Best match and atmsophere was Scunny by far. All the faces and a terrific end.

Maxi's goal at MK and Dyer's at Huddersfield and the x-rated celebrations which followed were the best moments on the pitch.

Singing 12 days of '94 play-off squad through Victoria pre palace was quite incredible.

Silly aways such as Hartlepool (twice) Brighton, Carlise and Yeovil were huge laughs.

And with Crewe, Posh, Southend, Millwall and Hereford all to come theres more great days to come.

The spider was great!

Oldham was alaugh even though I had flu and did not realise the spent the next week off work feeling crap!

Fulham was awesome! Shirt off, dancing out of breath & we scored again! I have never been so hot at a football match

Peterborough home was great with the addition of Phil Taylor

Bristol Rovers home seeing their fans give it the biggun, only to lose in the last minute, classic.

i am sure Leeds at home will be good at least, hopefully Millwall tomorrow too

1. Huddersfield away. The whole day was awesome.

2. The laughs and company we've had with people from here.

3. Cheltenham - both games.

4. Letting Victoria station about our '94 play off final team.

5. Rovers away.

Got many more, but these are my top 5.

Haven't been to many games this season but:

The dawn of Max Gradel chants at Craven Cottage way back in August. Another unlucky loss, and knowing the inevitable Jamie Bullard would eventually see us off as Montella 2 seasons before.

The train to Selhurst Park.

Just about every away game has it's highlight.

Last minute goals against Orient, Lloyd's last minute goal against Huddersfield, Steve's goal against Oldham, the pikey steward at Swindon, King's winner against Scunny, ripping C-Man's hood celebrating at Carlisle, Steve scoring once and an epic journey to Hartlepool the first time, Steve scoring twice and an epic journey to Hartlepool the second time, all of Yeovil, outclassing Walsall, Bunn's penalty save + Steve + FT terrace at Bristol Rovers, Gradel's free kick and even Wednesday, singing 1-0 down who gives a **** for what seemed like ages.

This is just off the top of my head, there's been so many good moments this season.
