DB11 Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 5000 on the first time 5000 on the second time 4100 on the third
General Smuts Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 5000 on the first time 5000 on the second time 4100 on the tenth time. I've had a shocker on this one. Shambles.
Libertine Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 The OP said you have to do it in order though. So those who did thy 1000s first are cheats.
Guest Bilo Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 4100. Does this mean I get to join the genius club now?
Guest Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Am I the only person that added up the thousands and then went back to add up the tens? I got straight to 4100 without a hitch. No, you are not.
DB11 Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Am I the only person that added up the thousands and then went back to add up the tens? I got straight to 4100 without a hitch. Nope.. Yup same here, but like the OP says, works better when its said aloud. No, you are not. Cheatssssssssssss WITHOUT WRITING IT DOWN OR USING A CALCULATOR. ADD UP IN ORDER -Work this out.1000 + 40 + 1000 + 30 + 1000 + 20 + 1000 + 10 = 4100 (highlight to see answer after posting yours). Seems easy but apparently most people get this wrong. most people get 5000 . I'm not sure if it'll work being typed in and all. From brainiac
Guest Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Cheatssssssssssss It's the way I do mental arithmetic.
C-man Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 4100. Added 1000s up first, then counted 100. EDIT: I can see why people add an extra 1000 though!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 I did it in order and got 4100. Does this make me some sort of genius in today's Broken Britain?
Bellend Sebastian Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 I did it in order and got 4100. Does this make me some sort of genius in today's Broken Britain? Yes. Bearing in mind that when we tested some job applicants a while back, some of them didn't know what 20% of 100 is, or how many quarters there are in a year. They were all graduates, worryingly

StanSP Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 The fact that some people quoted the original post from BlabyFox means that they would have seen what's underneath the spoiler
BlabyFox Posted 17 March 2009 Author Posted 17 March 2009 Am I the only person that added up the thousands and then went back to add up the tens? I got straight to 4100 without a hitch. Thats why it works better on t.v. - where they tell you each number in a row
BlabyFox Posted 17 March 2009 Author Posted 17 March 2009 Ha Ha. Quite a few got it wrong. Although I did when i saw it originally on Brainiac.
