Salieri Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 warner is awful pentney better than him and he cant make the bench martin shuold start and pentney on the bench pentney made some cracking saves and his distribution was the best punctuation?
J.Lisemore Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 None of the keepers at the club at the moment are good enough but if i had to pick one i would probably say Warner.
davieG Posted 5 April 2009 Author Posted 5 April 2009 Highly unlikely he'll be back this season. What's his problem Bert?
Fox92 Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 If anybody heard the football furom last Monday, Birch said that Martin had gone back to Liverpool for treatment like Cleverly has Manchester United. Martin is the best 'keeper at the club, Warner, like above, is like David James - in fact, when we went to Peterborough, the lad stood behind me said is that David James?
Father Ted Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 If I was a mod this thread would be closed. Hopefully I will never see him in a Leicester shirt again.
Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Don't really rate Martin tbh. Never looked commanding when he was coming to claim the ball although I'm a bit worried about the prospect of having Warner in goal for such a crucial period of the season. I thought his distribution especially was terrible yesterday!

I thought his distribution especially was terrible yesterday! Whether you rate him or not, you can't deny that we've gone downhill since he's been out. There seemed to be a definite understanding between Martin and the back 4 when he was playing, and he'd become steadily more commanding throughout the time when he was playing for us. Since Warner's been in, there's obvious moments when you can see that the defenders don't really trust him.

I suppose if you look at the statistics, we weren't conceding when Martin was in goal. It's a shame he's not fit for the run-in. With regards to the future though, I'm not sure if he'd be a sound investment. He's still young but I don't know if he'd be good enough to play at a higher level. I'm not sure what everyone else thinks
Koke Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Stockdale > Warner Anyone > Warner Warner gives me heart attacks. He is Calamity James MK2.
Joe. Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Warner's not actually made any mistakes though since being here. OK he's a little erratic at times, but he's been decent to be fair.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 I remember someone (or maybe more) wanting to sign him after his first game for us. This is where i tried to point out he was understudy to calamity James at his calamitus worst! Maybe someone should go down to the training ground and injure him so we can sign yet another keeper on loan!
Daggers Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Warner's not actually made any mistakes though since being here. OK he's a little erratic at times, but he's been decent to be fair. He's pulled off some incredible saves and probably gave us the three points at Millwall and a point yesterday.
Thracian Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Rib and back problems. Has he had em removed or something? One thing we seem brilliant at even now is getting injured. We don't do half a job. Once they go down they seem to be out for ages. Martin, Henderson, Kisnorbo, Clemence, Tunchev, Cleverley, Weso, Chambers, Dickov, Gilbert(?) Hammond (ankle) plus a few more in the Academy.... We never seem to do hamstring strains or pulled muscles ....
jimmer Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 What's his problem, Bert? Why would Bert be his problem?
Bert Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 Ever since Martin hasn't been in goal, we've been pretty shit.
5waller5 Posted 5 April 2009 Posted 5 April 2009 He's pulled off some incredible saves and probably gave us the three points at Millwall and a point yesterday. Didn't see him at millwall so can't comment - but yesterday I hold him entirely responsible for their first goal. I'd also say that he didn't make any saves that i wouldn't have expected Martin / Stockdale / Pentney / Logan / Most senior league and above keepers / and finally Henderson ... to make!! In this thread somewhere someone slates his distribution - which i think is exceptional and his only saving grace - but not enough of one to make up for his erratic positioning and communication.
Guest Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Warner = Calamity James MK2 Warner gives me heart attacks. He is Calamity James MK2. Have you been speaking to Sir Fynwy?
BlabyFox Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Why the fook did he run way out of his box to that through ball against Carlisle when the defense had it? Warner is absolutley awful.
20mj08 Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Ever since Martin hasn't been in goal, we've been pretty shit. that and since the tunch has been missing at the back
