I got a C in GCSE French but to be honest I really can't remember anything except have you got a room with a shower and you tend to get a few strange looks when you want to know how much the bus is or are buying a can of coke from a shop

Having just returned from a week in France I am still trying to get out of the habit of randomly talking French

Favourite lines of last week were

  • Shah blue blah!
  • Toute-de-le-fruit.
  • Ou est la gare - a la sac a main

The first two are taken from the Friends episode when Joey is speaking French - I am not at all a fan of Friends - but that episode is genuinely hilarious

Ik kan een beetje Nederlands spreken of praten. Je parle un peu du Français. My English is not too bad either. ;)

I speak English well, and use it regularly.

As for the rest, I can speak a bit of French. Also, a very small amount of Catalan Spanish - enough to scrape by in Barca and the northern Med coast.

I can barely speak English.

I would like to learn Welsh, as this would piss them off.

On the contrary, cariad! The Welshmen that don't speak Welsh but feel they probably should would likely have a quiet resentment for you - but voicing it would just make them look daft. If you want to piss us off (and come home to a 'roaring fire' ;)) buy yourself a nice holiday cottage in Snowdonia somewhere.

English amd I went night school to learn Spanish. Not done me much good as they all speak Englush on the Costa De Sol. :D

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Chav as another language they speak.
