Guest Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 I've just seen a clip montage on the Breakfast News, and this is going to go down the wrong way here, but I have just realised why I don't like these programmes. I'm being reminded here of holidays at Butlins, and nights at the local Liberal or Working Men's Clubs from my childhood. As for that girl, I wouldn't have given her another chance.
Hullfox Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 As for that girl, I wouldn't have given her another chance. Quite right. The kid is going to grow up thinking that if she cries she's going to get her own way all of the time. Well let me tell you young lady, life isn't like that. I cried at Kings Cross yesterday but did they uncancel my train? did they fook. The judges should have buzzed her out then booed her off stage - that would have given her more idea of what life is about.
Big Ol' Bob Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Exactly. So what if she is 10, if she wants to go and perform in front of the queen at the royal variety then she can't start sobbing and asking for a second chance when she fcuks up. She will learn the hard way when she grows up though.
Thracian Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Exactly. So what if she is 10, if she wants to go and perform in front of the queen at the royal variety then she can't start sobbing and asking for a second chance when she fcuks up. She will learn the hard way when she grows up though. From what I can see you're even more likely to get another chance, and then still more, when you're grown up! Some lawyers spend their working lives trying to get chances for grown ups. She's 10 years old. Ten year old girls are forever crying when things don't go as they wish. I hear them every working day when schools are on holiday. They'll grow up in their own time and could probably do without grown ups making them grow up too soon. Or at least grown ups who don't seem to prepare them properly for the situations they put their offspring into.
Babylon Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 The judges should have buzzed her out then booed her off stage - that would have given her more idea of what life is about. Ha ha I wish they would have done that.
Webbo Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Come off it. How many on here would tell a cute 10 year old girl with tears in her eyes to piss off in front of 10 million people on live TV. You'd be lynched. Whether she should have been put through to the semi-finals or not is another question.
Tilley Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 I sort of felt sorry for her until she screamed.. "PLEEEEEEEEEAAAASSSSSEEEEE" Spoilt brat.
StanSP Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 I did find it funny though when Ant said I'm sorry we don't have time for you to sing again' and then Simon says 'Don't worry, we will have time.'
Fox You Forest Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 The young lad dancing was good, I'll be putting some moves in like that tonight.
Corky Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Come off it. How many on here would tell a cute 10 year old girl with tears in her eyes to piss off in front of 10 million people on live TV. I think the problem is that if it was a 30-year-old woman who did exactly the same they would be told to piss off (obviously in nicer terms). You might well be lynched but you've got to be fair- if she fucks up and gets another chance then so should everyone else.
maddog Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Couldn't believe Hollie last night it was so painful to watch and like some sort of nightmare. They never should have put her through to the finals though, she may crumble again, her mother is clearly a bit pushy and probably putting ideas of her being the next Beyonce in her head, and i just hope they put her on first tonight to get her out the way so she doesn't have to sit backstage waiting. They would have been better off not making her suffer again and just picking the high voice guy. To put Hollie through to the final after that just seems a bit stupid to me, she could crumble again. I can see them putting her on first though to get her out of the way and so she doesn't have to sit waiting, that would be best. It was when she was hugging Dec and crying all over his suit, he didn't know what to do or say, he's not got kids has he

At the end of the day she just wants the best for her daughter. What mother/parent doesn't?? Crying or not, she ahs talent. She does have a good voice. And it's a live show. Dec wasn't exactly planning to see a little girl cry and consoling her.

Thracian Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 I sort of felt sorry for her until she screamed.. "PLEEEEEEEEEAAAASSSSSEEEEE"Spoilt brat. Not at all. Simply a 10-year-old reacting by exploring boundaries and showing an instinct for survival. Even some soldiers have been known to weep and plead when facing a situation they can do nothing else about.
Webbo Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 I think the problem is that if it was a 30-year-old woman who did exactly the same they would be told to piss off (obviously in nicer terms). That's the way of the world. It might not be fair but it's how it's always been.
l444ry Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Britain's Got Effluent Britain has finally had enough of having talent and just wants Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan, Amanda Holden and their at best mediocre revelations, to go away somewhere and die a dignified death. Not in a literal sense of course. That would be too much, but to metaphorically take their abysmal television talent showcase and stick it up their collective arses. Because it's absolute crap. Millions of celeb-starved Britons were left feeling cheated after being conned into watching the worst talent/variety show EVER. And it just goes on and on. And on and on. Small wonder that the TV Company who commissioned this load of absolute dogs eggs is struggling. What started out as a bit of a laugh has degenerated into the realms of sado-masochism as a hairy Scottish woman, some dancers, and various fast food delivery drivers proved, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that they really have no talent at all. Curiously, the show remains popular with woman of a certain age, women who hate football usually. The whole world's gone bloody mad. And that's a fact.
maddog Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 She wasn't that pushy .At the end of the day she just wants the best for her daughter. What mother/parent doesn't?? Crying or not, she ahs talent. Hopefully she won't crumble tonight but putting her in the final seems like a bad idea to me. It's obvious Susan Boyle is going to win. Aiden is good, but he's basically the same as George from last year, even their performances last night were similar with the video effect thing. Personally i would like Stavros to win because their a bit of light hearted fun, or saxophone man because he's well good.
Legend_in_blue Posted 30 May 2009 Author Posted 30 May 2009 This'll make good tv tonight. I suppose the George clone act will put water into his act somewhere tonight. Hopefully, the tv's on stage will be well out of the way by then. Don't expect Susan to walk this either. If she performs in the same manner as she did in the live show on Monday night she might well come up short.
Fox You Forest Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 I'm bored of Susan Boyle. How that semi naked group of dancers didn't make it through last night I'll never know.
General Smuts Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 Can't believe that little bint went through cos she cried. Ridic.
StanSP Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 I'm bored of Susan Boyle. How that semi naked group of dancers didn't make it through last night I'll never know. Same
