Nod.E Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Who the fook is Amanda Holden and what the fook does she know about talent. The only TV she had been in was Wild At Heart before starting this and weren't she in Eastenders She's so fooking annoying, she thinks the shows all about her, she knows fook all about talent. Why is a journalist twat on the judging panel also, what does Piers 'twat' Morgan know about talent And he does the USA one. Who is she, who is she
Legend_in_blue Posted 28 May 2009 Author Posted 28 May 2009 its annoying when you think that these acts are being considered to be the best talent in the country at the minute, and when you see a kid dancing with characters from the jungle book and some old bloke trying to dance. its just not funny anymore, its ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He claims 70 quid in benefits a week because he has a bad leg! Something isn't right with this country!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Just caught this. What a sasauge fest the final will be.
l444ry Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 In my humble opinion all these "talent" contests are meaningless and worthless and should never be taken seriously. It diminishes the work done by struggling artists who are the real forgotten talents of the music and entertainment industry. Secondly, it's cheap TV! It is the modern day equivalent of the 'opium of the people'. I really believe that we are all being manipulated by the by the TV companies who seemed to be staffed by young small brained, foul mouthed, evil fascists. I guess if you think that this sort of show passes for entertainment then your low horizons won't be worried. It's what American TV has been for years. Mindless pap! Those who spend money voting are the same ones who now pay over £1 for a greeting card or buy a tin of fizzy drink at a silly price - no head for figures and seduced by peer presure.
Guest Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 its annoying when you think that these acts are being considered to be the best talent in the country at the minute No, they are the best of a bunch of media whores who have no dignity and no shame, and don't care if their five minutes of fame involves a large section of the nation laughing at them because, at the end of the day, they "got on the telly, mum". It's something that they can proudly show the grandchildren, one day.....

That's a bit harsh. The saxophone guy last night was brilliant. It's so hard to make good money as a professional musician so I have a lot of respect for him for trying something different. he has a great talent and now he is able to give a lot of people pleasure instead of just a small minority. The dance groups are similar. Very talented young people doing something constructive with their lives and enjoying it in the process. That's to be admired, not ridiculed. I agree that many people go on here obssessed with the celebrity culture but these are more often than not found out in the selection process and what you are left with are ordinary, hard working, talented people who just want to bring their talent to a wider audience. Also, in response to l444ry it's harmless TV entertainment. I see nothing wrong with it. If you want something serious and depressing watch the news.
Tabou Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Would like to see you have done that at his age - I thought he did pretty well to be honest. Seconded. I thought that little lad was wicked, was very entertaining, made a difference from another sodding 'Dance act' and talking dog etc.... And he seemed to really really want to be there and looked like he had an awesome time. Mowgli to win!
Guest Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 That's a bit harsh. Harsh, but true. I don't often watch stuff like this, and whenever I have momentarily paused whilst flicking through the channels, I have found it painful to watch. Ok, so a few genuinely talented people appear, but it's not the main reason people watch these shows. They are more interested in the embarrassing cack. It's why programmes like Big Brother are so popular, not for the social experiment, but for the chance to gossip about the weirdos and freaks, and finding out who can do the most outrageous thing in the history of the show.

I actually really enjoy watching it, particularly when I see talented people, of which there are a lot. The freaks and weirdos get boring pretty quickly, essentially because once you've seen them there's no point seeing them again. Not sure what Big Brother has to do with this, that really is a freak show - for me Britain's Got Talent is completely different. The dance groups, the musicians, the singers - all great to watch and nothing at all to do with freaks, embarassement or cack. I'm not saying these people are going to change the world but now we're in the latter stages the people left are good people just looking for a break. To be honest it's refreshing to see ordinary people with talent performing as opposed to celebrities with zero to offer which is the norm.
StanSP Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Can anyone tell me who got through from last night?? 2 Grand (granddaughter/grandfather duet) Julian Smith (Saxophonist)
Guest Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 To be honest it's refreshing to see ordinary people with talent performing as opposed to celebrities with zero to offer which is the norm. Aren't most of today's celebrities the by-product of tv talent shows?
DB11 Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 2 Grand (granddaughter/grandfather duet)Julian Smith (Saxophonist) Which was the judges' choice? And who were the two they had to pick from?

Monk Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 I've attempted to watch this show on a few occasions and just find it cringworthy, can't stand it.

Guest Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Bloody hell Richard and Judy are ganging up on me. I dread to think which one is which!
StanSP Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Which was the judges' choice? And who were the two they had to pick from? People chose Julian Smith. Judges had to pick from 2 Grand and Callum Francis (young kid danced/sung to junglebook melody) Simon and Amanda picked 2 Grand because Callum has more of a chance to come back and essentially has more going for him. Piers didn't need to pick but said he would have gone for Callum. I dread to think which one is which! You're Richard. NOw do some Ali G impressions so we can all laugh at you

I actually find this entertaining. It's actually a bit of fun, whereas the other stuff like X Factor etc isn't.

Maybe they guessed Amanda would go for the little kid, like always
