AjcW Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 I know he has been a tiny bit inconsistent this season but that does not take away from the fact he puts in a captains performance every game. You will always see him shouting out instructions and relaying orders from the bench, which obviously any good captain should do. He has in my opinion held together a strong, but young inexperienced midfield this season, and has helped in Andy Kings development no end. My favorite moment from the skipper this season (and i cant remember the exact game but it was at home) was when he had the ball on one edge of the area, controlled it and half volleyed it across to the right wing, it was pure quality. Last night he was clearly delighted to put a shocking season before behind him, hopefully next year he can be one element in a strong spine that will put is in good stead in Le Championship.
Bert Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 I love the guy. Takes a lot of unwarranted stick sometimes I think. Proved a lot of people wrong this season, and hopefully he'll be able to have just as good a season next season. Inconsistent at times, yes. But never ever one to go hiding. Matt Oakley -

Matt Oakley - Big congratulations and praise to him over the course of the season. Hasn't missed many games at all and always puts in enough effort for the team. Great goal against Leeds on Boxing Day and recently against Carlisle. Well done Oakley
Guest Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Great captain, overall a really good season for him and as Bert said has proved a lot of doubters wrong I'll always remember his performance at Millwall away this season, absolute quality Cheers Oaks

Uncle Albert Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Oakley isnt my favourite player for no reason. I love the Guy. Him and King are brilliant together, I think anyways.

Mikey Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Has had a great season, and been a true captain. Hopefully continue it into next season. Oakley.

Hitesh Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Good captain and better than Clemence! You do see him in control of the players and midfield but in a less aggresive ways to other captain. Good work this season and I hope he keeps it next season!
Asha Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Proved the doubters wrong this season, generally consistant, some fantastic displays and always a brilliant captain. Hope he stays here for the rest of his career.
The Reverend Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Oakley's a brilliant player. One things for certain - his range of passing does not belong outside of a top Championship club.
AMYB101_LCFC Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Oakley's great Not only is he a bloody good captain, he's a bloody babe too! It's like a huge bonus!! Just asking but... Did anyone else look at his bum when he bent over to like move the ball at one point in the match last night? For me last night just got better and better!
