Bryn Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...lla/8051821.stm Such a shame, awesome defender but injured just one too many times.
City_4_Life Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 That is a shame. He was a rock at the back, and also got his fair share of goals for a defender.
David Guiza Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...lla/8051821.stmSuch a shame, awesome defender but injured just one too many times. There going to have trouble replacing him i would imagine. Quality defender there a much better team when he plays. Maybe Kisnorbo's found a new team .
StanSP Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Villa mate was gutted about this. Good player. Probably go into coaching I assume?
Hitesh Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Thats harsh! A really good defender and its not nice when players are forced to retire!
ousefox Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Awful shame! He had been doing so well in the last 2 seasons.
Dave-Pundit Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 as a Villan myself, it's just sickening, I'm gutted.
dandannieldanok Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 He's only really come good in the last couple of seasons, not as fantastic as people make out.
Cat Burger Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Was an absolute giant when I went to Villa park to see them v Newcastle last season. He almost outshone a three goal John Carew.
Dave-Pundit Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 He's only really come good in the last couple of seasons, not as fantastic as people make out. Well that's why AC Milan brought him, you also forget he spent years and years on the sidelines, whenver he's been fit, he's been a rock.
syston_fox Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 He's only really come good in the last couple of seasons, not as fantastic as people make out. He was always was the first name on my fantasy football team - guarenteed to score a few goals from defence
Jonezy Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Shame. At least he got a few good seasons at Villa in the end. Always hampered by injuries, which also had an impact on his international career for Denmark.
Koke Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 I like him. He is one of the good characters in football. A genuinely nice man. It's a shame to retire at the age of 31, but it is in his best interest and health.
MarkDeVries Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Yeh, he is (was) a quality defender. Seems to be a very genuine guy from his interview Shame really
RizLCFC Posted 20 May 2009 Posted 20 May 2009 Four years ago, I traipsed tiredly off the training pitch at Belvoir Drive, Leicester City's training ground. After asking to go pre-season training, I spoke with Micky Adams, then the manager, about his relationships with his colleagues. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...a-farewell.html Why didn't we sign him, the guy was a great centre back and whole hearted! Shame he retired through injury because the last couple of seasons he's been a rock.
