Cropwellfox Posted 2 September 2009 Posted 2 September 2009 The vast majority of workplaces everywhere have at least one DJ. Supposedly hate it, would rather be anywhere else, yet can't quite be arsed to do anything about it therefore stick around being miserable and not much use to anyone.

Leicesterboi Posted 2 September 2009 Posted 2 September 2009 Not true. Welcome back KIA!! Does DJ train on his own or with the youth team? Does Taggart rate him? I heard that we are now going to loan him out just to get rid and pay a % of his wages because he disruptes the atmosphere!?
Salieri Posted 2 September 2009 Posted 2 September 2009 Welcome back Knowitall. Your valued input has been sorely missed.

Shrenchel Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 It's great to have you back and all that but seriously... give us a little more info on what that turd is still doing here. Eh?We know what he's still doing here. Picking up a bigger wedge than anyone else will give him.
Thracian Posted 4 September 2009 Posted 4 September 2009 Take note all you DJ lovers. (esp Maddog) If he has an "attitude" it's hardly likely to change. Has anything even been done to try and make it change? Pearson made his feelings abundantly clear when refusing to involve DJ against Barnsley and/or Preston. And he may well have been right. But why it should be any less right for DJ to refuse to be pushed towards taking a deal he doesn't want in preference to the ridiculously lucrative long term deal City were kind enough to give him I don't know. It seems to me like the sort of impasse we can do without but I wouldn't bet it will go away quickly.

If the bloke had anything about him, he'd just knuckle down, work his bollocks off in training and hope for a reprieve from Nige. He's still getting paid a massive wedge, so putting in a bit of extra training and looking like he WANTS to play for the club wouldnt go amiss. Pearson seems like a fair minded guy and i'm sure that if DJ really put the effort in to change then this would not go unnoticed. It may take time, but if he really doesnt want to move away from the club (for a lesser wage) then he may as well keep trying to bang on the door while he's here.

Have you any evidence that Pearson does reprieves? Apart from DJ it might be interesting to ask Levi Porter about that. I don't know whether he does reprieves or not but I know which way I'd guess. Many managers I've known - and I'll own up to being one of them - have been delighted to get an early chance to establish their authority by making an example of someone. That someone is never a player they rate highly or really want in the side. Just someone who can be outed for some convenient reason to serve a purpose. This might or might not be be the case at Leicester or there could be a hundred other possible reasons why Porter and DJ have been so singularly sidelined since Pearson's arrival. We don't know either way but I certainly don't see any evidence from these examples to suggest that Pearson is especially forgiving. He'll pick the team he wants on the terms he chooses unless there are clauses in contracts that make some players more equal than others. As will any manager. Basically they are autocrats not democrats. They call the tune and face whatever music ensues as a result. So you can't really blame them.
