Jordan Posted 23 May 2009 Posted 23 May 2009 I went nuts for the Collymore signing. And I thought the Tunchev transfer had all the makings of a brilliant plan from the minute I read about the first rumors that he'd be coming to Leicester. Some of those names are obvious, but I can't believe nobody has mentioned Matt Jones. I can remember thinking at the time we'd pulled off a major coup.Oh dear Just realized... me too... I also thought Damien Delaney was going to be a solid left back... I don't remember why. Maybe he was good on Championship Manager or something.

I can remember thinking at the time we'd pulled off a major coup.Oh dear So did I, for £3 million quid, and then he had a great debut against Charlton in a 3-1 win. Never worked out. I was also delighted at signing Darren Eadie. When fit, he showed glimpses of his potential, but was injured too much

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 23 May 2009 Posted 23 May 2009 That Liverpool had signed Peggy Arpexhead! He may have been a legend, but he made me feel so on edge when he was in goal. Trevor Benjamin - had promise and a great name! Les Ferdinand - legend before, and pretty decent for us Keith Gillespie & Jason Wilcock - had we had these guys 4 years earlier how different things may have been? Tim Flowers - I was most pleased! Some others Gary Rowett, Matt Jones, Adi (seemed we were going in the right direction with these guys, showed ambition -hmmmmmmm ) Riccy Scimeca, Ian Walker, Gerry Taggart and Ashley Ward!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 23 May 2009 Posted 23 May 2009 Carlos Tevez... DAMMIT - I'm getting Football Manager mixed up with real life again!
MarkDeVries Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 Mark De Vries Just because he looked shite before he kicked a ball
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 Davie Gibson - we were told he was good but most of us never knew how good. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_GibsonFrank Worthington special talent. Derek Dougan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derek_Dougan Allen Clarke (British record fee of £165,000 at the time which was amazing for City.) Peter Shilton (I knew him as a nipper and when he signed professional forms for City, lots of us already thought he'd play for England) Wow! Davie Gibson to me was the most skillful player ever signed. Matt Gillies brought him to Filbert Street via Hibs, just after his army service. He was a little fella with fantastic skill and enthusiasm, and went on to play for Scotland He linked up so well with Mike ("Beanpole") Stringfellow, who was a pacey long legged left winger signed from Mansfield Town. Derek Dougan was a living legend at Leicester, and God only knows why we sold him to Wolves. Allan Clarke, had a great left foot. Another great signing for me was Willie Carlin from Derby, who along with Bobby Kellard, did everything they were signed for, and put us back in the top flight. Again, two little guys with big hearts, and the desire to be winners.

General Smuts Posted 25 May 2009 Posted 25 May 2009 Lilian Nalis - a Frenchman playing in Seria A coming to us?!?!?! Not necessarily when he signed but I saw the Barcelona friendly at the Walkers and was ludicrously excited about Nalis. His range of passing and his work rate were absolutely exceptional. What the fuck happened after that is beyond me. I got his name on the back of my shirt based on this friendly. Maybe the excitement of the game being on the day before my birthday got to me Jack Hobbs. I'm still creaming me undercrackers!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 25 May 2009 Posted 25 May 2009 Sir Les got me going at the time. I was gutted when he left
