Jon the Hat Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Well played Barca. United were poor all over the pitch. Defending for both goals was appalling, and the list of supposedly world class talent which balked on the biggest stage goes on and on. The only United player with a modicum of credit was Van der Sar. Whoever was in charge of the ITV camera work should be shot. Out of focus all the time, pointless and rapid switches to close up in the middle of the action, random views of the managers. Worst coverage I have seen since Sky shown how it is done. ITV should be ashamed of themselves. Edit: And what Thrac said. Clear out time. This team will not get better. Three cheers for Pep. Oustanding first year in top level management. World class player and now it seems manager.
Thracian Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 I just prefer this:The first Spanish side to win the treble!! Thoroughly deserved. They were a joy to watch. And their manager seems to have all the right attitudes for keeping the club playing the football it was once so famous for.
Joe. Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Although he won't admit it, lildave was secretly delighted with Messi's header.
Darkzzz_ Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Thoroughly deserved. They were a joy to watch. And their manager seems to have all the right attitudes for keeping the club playing the football it was once so famous for. He has balls that bloke. I love the way he has stamped his mark down there. The way he ran the B team last season was amazing and he has shown great faith in the youth. He has also made them more hungry to win the ball back which was lacking towards the end of the Rijkaard era. I must say, because I am an honest person how much of a twat I look with my comment about Busquets earlier, He was brilliant tonight and I am sorry Mr Busquets! Damn looking at the scenes on La Rambla, I can't wait to go back!!
lildave3 Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Although he won't admit it, lildave was secretly delighted with Messi's header. It was a fantastic cross and a good header. They can all still die though. United were wank. Barca shouldn't have even been in the final. That's all i'm clinging to.
Edmund Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 anyone watching "you're on skysports" A caller just phoned in and said that Souness and Gullit had no right to question Ferguson's tactics as they were both failed managers. Gary Newborn was close to cutting him off. He looks vexed.
Guest Bilo Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Barcelona, Lliga de Campions mereixen guanyadors 2009!Hows that for you Nathko?! Catalan?! Me likey.

Gary Newborn was close to cutting him off. He looks vexed. A manager could be tactically astute yet psychologically pathetic. Bill Shankly would probably most emphasise my point. Anyone priviliged enough to speak to the guy (as I did) would quickly realise they were listening to a master of communication - the ultimate motivator. Shankly could have been tactically ordinary but people would still have gone down that tunnel willing to die for him. Not for one minute do I believe Souness or Gullit convey that sort of charisma. Even if they were analytically brilliant it still wouldn't make them great managers.
The Reverend Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 I'd also like to add that I'm a Real Madrid man, but I take my hat off to Barca. Catalan?! Me likey. Yes sir!
Vacamion Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Carrick was left isolated at times and was found out a bit tonight. That is all.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Perfect end to a perfect season. Newcastle relegated, Leeds ****ing up in the play-offs, my beloved Leicester City marching to the league title and now this. Amazing. I really hate Manchester United, always have done. Arrogant fans, arrogant manager, no class. At the moment they are a big squad of hard-working players with an average midfield in world-class terms. So sweet to see the likes of Anderson and Carrick get absolutely schooled by genuine all-time world-class footballers. KNOW. YOUR. PLACE. Manchester United have a big squad capable of seeing through the vast majority of the smaller games but they've been completely done at home by Liverpool and now by Barcelona. Have seen virtually every Barcelona game this season and they've been an absolute joy to watch, with none of the arrogance attached to the likes of Ronaldo. They genuinely just want to play beautiful football and score goals. 157 now in all competitions this season? Breathtaking. Vidic too good for the Barca attack? Messi no good in the air? Love it. Fantastic night for football.
lou Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 I will always support the English team in Europe as a rule and was hoping Man U would win but they were never really in the races tonight..... Carrick was woeful and at times the defending dire. Well deserved victory for Barca I have to say.
Bert Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 One person who certainly shouldn't have been in the final was Iniesta. Barca fully deserved the win, anyone who thinks otherwise is clearly deluded. It's a shame toward the end that Carlos CheatingPlayActingPussy Puyol started play acting and pretending to be injured. Ii had a lot of respect for him before tonight.

Finnegan Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 One person who certainly shouldn't have been in the final was Iniesta. What am I missing?
Tommeh Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Well that was fooking brilliant. Barca well and truely taught United a lesson in football United never got off their team coach This guy was immense This one even even better If only this magician was playing, United may have grabbed a consilation and a bit of dignity. Yes. Barca.
Bert Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 What am I missing? He was a booking away from missing the final. Took his top off when he scored the equaliser against Chelsea and wasn't booked.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 He was a booking away from missing the final. Took his top off when he scored the equaliser against Chelsea and wasn't booked. ****in ell Bert.
Finnegan Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 He was a booking away from missing the final. Took his top off when he scored the equaliser against Chelsea and wasn't booked. Ah. But didn't he have an under shirt on? Hence none of that terrible nudity stuff for the kids to have to see.
Bert Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 ****in ell Bert. It would've been a shame if he had missed it, because he was truly awesome. But this doesn't stop it being wrong.
lou Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Ah. But didn't he have an under shirt on? Hence none of that terrible nudity stuff for the kids to have to see. Absolutely no point a footballer taking his shirt off if he isnt going to reveal naked flesh!!
Bert Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Ah. But didn't he have an under shirt on? Hence none of that terrible nudity stuff for the kids to have to see. Regardless. Many players take their tops off and have tops on underneath and still have a booking.
Darkzzz_ Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Agree with what Fez said, I haven't missed a game this season either and what a joy it has been to watch a team who genuinely want to entertain and play football. I am not saying everyone should like them, but a team that is run by the people and approaches the game in the right way is surely hard to hate? Surely? Great season all round and as Craig just said in one of his texts to me, would be nice to see Everton lift the F.A Cup.
