Daggers Posted 12 June 2009 Posted 12 June 2009 Crazy world.http://www.marieclaire.co.uk/news/368147/w...-car-crash.html Erm. I think loads of other people died that day too - people do that. There's nothing spooky about some random biting it.

StanSP Posted 13 June 2009 Posted 13 June 2009 Did anyone read the story about a family who purposely separate with each other before they get on aflight. basically they get different flights to each other at different times in the event of there being a crash. Well two of them were on Flight 447. I don't know if many people do this but it's kind of a coincidence.
Guest Posted 14 June 2009 Posted 14 June 2009 I'm sure you'll be fine Aye, tell me about it.Flying for the first time ever on Tuesday, and I keep visualising what it must have been like and although I know it's irrational, I'm becoming anxious at something similar happening. I know I'm only going to be flying for all of 40 minutes, and travelling such a short distance means less altitude or whatever, but my generalised anxiety is fully active again. I had a bit of a paddy; it's not the flying that bothers me, it's being cooped up for hours, and being told to close the blind, closing out the only thing that is stopping me from totally losing it. I wouldn't mind but the airline gives everyone those stupid masks, so if you want to sleep in the dark, use those, tossers.
AoWW Posted 14 June 2009 Posted 14 June 2009 Best thing about flying are the air hostesses/. They never do it for me.
Zingari Posted 14 June 2009 Posted 14 June 2009 They never do it for me. have you tried wining and dining them first ? but try not to expect too much on the first date though
AoWW Posted 14 June 2009 Posted 14 June 2009 have you tried wining and dining them first ? but try not to expect too much on the first date though I think, yes, it could be that my expectations are too high.
Zingari Posted 14 June 2009 Posted 14 June 2009 I think, yes, it could be that my expectations are too high. air hostesses do have their spotless reputations to think of , you know

James. Posted 30 June 2009 Author Posted 30 June 2009 Another bad day for the French Just as those with a phobia of flying were coming to terms with their fear...
Granno Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Another bad day for the FrenchJust as those with a phobia of flying were coming to terms with their fear... Deary me.
Jon the Hat Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Sounds like bad weather conditions are the issue here. This is why you should fly with a good airline with Good experienced pilots.
hairy Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 This is why you should fly with a good airline with Good experienced pilots. You would think Air France would be fine though wouldn't you
StanSP Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Sounds like bad weather conditions are the issue here. This is why you should fly with a good airline with Good experienced pilots. How do you know as a passenger, when you book flights and all that, if you have an experience pilot though? Bad times.
Jon the Hat Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 You would think Air France would be fine though wouldn't you And they are most of the time. You make the decisions you can to minimise the risk. Flying Yemeni Air on an old Airbus 310 would not be my personal choice. Singapore Airlines !380 on the over hand - bring it on .

Maybes Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Pick a good airline. Good airlines only use experienced pilots. Can I have a list of good airlines please, seen as you seem to be the expert? I can see your point to a certain extent but I think this quote sums it up - They put us aboard wrecks, they put us aboard coffins. That's where they put us. It's slaughter. It's slaughter," one relative in Paris told French TV This is truly shocking - Following the crash, the EU Transport Commissioner Antonio Tajani said he would propose setting up a worldwide blacklist of airlines deemed to be unsafe. The EU already has its own list. How can an airline be allowed to fly helpless citizens if it is deemed unsafe?

I really hope they are attempting to resolve all the issues on this planes which are deemed unsafe. No point in creating a list and then just publishing it.
lavrentis Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 Pick a good airline. Good airlines only use experienced pilots. Pilots are trained to a standard, a very high standard. Even Second Officers on easyjet are experienced enough and trained to deal with bad situations. In an emergency pilots are trained to follow a strict procedure, no matter how many hours they have, they follow the same procedure.
BoneDog Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 I wonder who was on this one? I bet there's more VIP's like the executives from the South American steel companies and the two leading gun runners who were on the other Air France jet a few weeks ago. Plus many more. In fact it is unreal the amount of high fliers with connections to the White House who were on the last one. Got the list if anyone wants it to check. Dodgy as piss
