Uncle Albert Posted 26 June 2009 Posted 26 June 2009 Just seen the trailor for the new Pothead film on TV and it looks brilliant. July 15th, hopefully for once the film follows the book properly.

BlueSi13 Posted 27 June 2009 Posted 27 June 2009 As someone who grew up reading the books, the films have been a consistent disappointment, Warner Bros have never gotten the atmosphere right IMO, the books are easily as dark as the LOTR trilogy but comparing the films is like chalk and cheese, Warner Bros played it safe and went for the Child market whereas Peter Jackson stayed as true to the books as he possibly could and look at the success those films were.... Apprently the latest HP film will have just as many contradictions to the novel and those before it aswell

Samu Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 I enjoyed it. I actually thought that it followed the book reasonably well. Usually my biggest complaint is that they are nothing like the books but I thought that for the most part, it was fairly accurate. I would have made the ending slightly longer though and would have included more of a fight scene at Hogwarts as well as including the funeral. I would also have given Fenrir Greyback slightly more of a role because he scared me everytime he came on screen! I think people will like the movie as there are some funny moments, as well as a LOT of awkward love scenes. I think they slightly overdid that though as at times it was more like a romantic comedy than what I expected! Having said all that, there were many positives to take from it. I thought Slughorn was excellent!

Bryn Posted 15 July 2009 Posted 15 July 2009 Not a fan of the films but will probably see this one as it does look pretty good. Loved the books... possibly because I was always the same age as Harry, I kinda grew as the books grew. First one was pretty kiddy, but by the end they were quite adult and dark in my opinion.
