Toby or not Toby Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 Play suspended, now starting again. What is going on there?
purpleronnie Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 It's a fooking huge difference!! Thats right I was being sarcastic, nothing wrong with banter between fans, if its a big derby match fans should dislike each other and there should be tense atmospheres thats the whole point of big derby games and what makes them different to every other game, but it should never turn violent.
Suffolk_fox Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 They should ban Millwall from all competitions for 12 months - they have such a reputation, which they actually revel in.
Fosse Boy Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 what i worry about is that Millwall are gonna get seriously shitted on from high after this, but from what I've heard it's the irons 'fans' who have kicked things off. But will the FA have the bollocks to ban West Ham fans from travelling, or give them such a massive points deduction that they're guaranteed to go down? No, of course they won't. Bit surprising to hear a Lids fans sticking up for Millwall, but I have to agree with this. No matter how much any of us hate Millwall for the thuggish, racist behaviour which is looked upon with pride by many of their "fans", it does take two to tango and West Ham can't be absolved and be made out to be the good guys in all of this. All hooligans are as bad as each other and should be held in equal contempt in the eyes of the law and the footballing authorities.
leicesterseddon Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 They should ban Millwall from all competitions for 12 months - they have such a reputation, which they actually revel in. West Ham have caused most of the trouble tonight...
StanSP Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 They should ban Millwall from all competitions for 12 months - they have such a reputation, which they actually revel in. Ban their fans. Not the club. Fine the club.
purpleronnie Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 They should ban Millwall from all competitions for 12 months - they have such a reputation, which they actually revel in. So punish the majority because of the minority?
purpleronnie Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 Any chance you reckon this could cost us 2018? No theres worse violence in other countries and more frequent.
leicesterseddon Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 Any chance you reckon this could cost us 2018? Not really
Benji Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 To be fair everything inside the ground has sounded almost all west ham. Although a friend there says there were millwall fans int he home end at the start, mentalists!
Simi Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 This is going to go on and on, it's all over for Millwall now, regardless of whether they started it or not. The media reaction will be ridiculious.
Toby or not Toby Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 Pleased they have managed to turn this round into 3-1, mainly for Collison after what hes gone through these last couple of days. I personally would struggle to play if this happened to me.
Fosse Boy Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 To be fair everything inside the ground has sounded almost all west ham. Although a friend there says there were millwall fans int he home end at the start, mentalists! Apparently, you didn't even have to be on the West Ham database to buy a ticket for the home section for tonight. Surely common sense dictates that from a policing point of view that is fucking retarded.
Suffolk_fox Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 So punish the majority because of the minority? The club have done cock all to keep this in check - they do have a big problem and in my mind have not done enough to put their house in order. So yes. And if it is the case that West Ham are just as guilty, ban them too.
Edmund Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 The frightening thing is the game isn't even over yet. Imagine when the fans spill into the streets. Carnage.
purpleronnie Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 I know a big fuss will be made and I really hope those who are injured are ok but these incidents are so rare in england I hope the authorities take a balanced view of it all. Millwall v west ham with all the history was always going to be the worst case scenario, I know from my travels that english fans are gaining a reputation not of violence but of well behaved fans. If you look at the attendances and arrests rates it makes english matches the safest in the world.

This willy puller presenting Sky Sports is doing my nut in now, practically forgetting the match is going on and only talking about the violence, practically promoting it. Front page of The Sun tomorrow without a doubt.
Edmund Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 http://www.independentmillwall.com/ Millwalls forum is on meltdown.

So yes. And if it is the case that West Ham are just as guilty, ban them too. Well your mind is wrong, millwall have do huge amounts over many years to stop the violence yes the odd incident happens maybe once a season if that ,you have to get things in perspective they cant control every fan that follows their club I'm sure most of the fans causing the trouble today dont even go to games, also I know if I was attacked I would do my upmost to defend myself does that make me a hooligan?, england does seem to have an OTT mentality where every little incident is blown into a huge news strory, this of course should be dealt harsly and it will be but to punish the vast majority of well behaved west ham and millwall fans is stupid.
