davieG Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 http://www.usatoday.com/sports/soccer/2009...726855611_x.htm From OS Foxes duo Andy King and Aleksandar Tunchev were both winners on international duty last night. Midfielder King scored in Wales's Under-21 international 4-1 victory over Hungary at Wrexham while Tunchev played in the first half of Bulgaria's 1-0 friendly win at home to Latvia.
maddog Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 http://www.usatoday.com/sports/soccer/2009...726855611_x.htm I'm guessing he will be playing in the Sheff Utd game for his own match fitness and to give others a rest after Ipswich. I hope to see him on the bench Saturday though. Although Neilson will be back for Sheff.
Alf Bentley Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Good stuff. Hopefully he'll be fit ASAP I hope Tunchev only played 45 mins due to building up match fitness and not because of any further injury! Re. Neilson: I understand the Macclesfield game was his 2nd suspended game. If so, presumably he'll be available for selection v. Ipswich on Saturday, won't he?

Neilson: I understand the Macclesfield game was his 2nd suspended game. If so, presumably he'll be available for selection v. Ipswich on Saturday, won't he? That's what I came to understand. Neilson has a great long throw apparently but haven't two of our goals this season come from Oakley throw ins? Competition there I think.

Neilson: I understand the Macclesfield game was his 2nd suspended game. If so, presumably he'll be available for selection v. Ipswich on Saturday, won't he? Yes. I thought that the Neilson ban was two league games, but have come to understand that Swansea and Macclesfield classed as the two games so yes Neilson will be ready for selection at Ipswich. I would most probably play him and not Morrison at full back, persuming he's fit. In fact, he must be seeing as he played a part in pre season. Neilson's throws I understand are like Rory Delap's. With Oakley's throws being quite far I am not sure who will be taking them. I would probably let Neilson throw and let Oakley lurk outside the area or something just in case it gets slightly cleared.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 13 August 2009 Posted 13 August 2009 Its good that King scored, he will easily be in the Wales squad all the time soon. Tunch is slowly geting back to fitness, hopefully he will play for us before the end of the month.

Would make sense for Neilson to take throws from the right and Oakley from the left. If we signed Delap as well, we could develop our whole game around winning throw-ins!

If we signed Delap as well, we could develop our whole game around winning throw-ins! all we'd need to do then its get a striker over than howard capable of winning headers more often than not.
flanimal Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Anyone recommend any 6ft 7in bruisers with a head like a crash helmet in any of the lower or foreign leagues?

Benji Posted 22 August 2009 Posted 22 August 2009 So... Is this guy not fully fit, being kept out of the team by Hobbs and Brown or on his way out? Personally, despite Brown and Hobbs playing out of their skin, if fit I think he'd improve any partnership we could put out. (I realise we're not conceeding hardly any this is not a criticism)

We've restricted everyone so far to minimal chances. Will be interesting to see how they fare at Preston and Newcastle who have both started the season very well.

I was looking out for you today to buy a lottery ticket from me. Katy/Stez/Daughter and Bert were kind souls last week but you go into hiding!

When its shut, play him!

Benji Posted 22 August 2009 Posted 22 August 2009 And that goes to all you FT'ers Buy a lottery ticket near the away end (except the next 2 home games I'm on holiday)

(I realise we're not conceeding hardly any this is not a criticism) Hobbs and Brown are playing out of their skin so NP has a bit of a quandary there regarding Tunchev. Because, as good as Tunch is, it would send a very negative message to Hobbs or Brown (or indeed throughout the entire squad) if either were dropped. Current form is everything, there's no room for sentiment/favouritism. Having said that, if and when either are suspended or injured, i fully expect Tunch to step in and make the position his own once more.
Katy Posted 22 August 2009 Posted 22 August 2009 Awww I'm joking. You were lucky to catch us that time actually as I never usually venture around those parts before games.
