Salieri Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Why would any team with ambition sell one of their best players unless they were desperate for the cash? I wouldn't have though we were in a position where we had to sell. £4 million does sound a lot at the moment, but if Fryatt continues to improve as much as he has over the last year or so then that valuation may end up seeming low, particulary if his goals helped fire us to the Premier League. With things starting off so well, this sort of disruption is the last thing we need. Hopefully, Babylon is responsible for this rumour!
Matt Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Christ on a bike. Jermaine Beckford is not going to sign for us. End of story.Hopefully this isn't true anyway and we can crack on. This would cause huge disruption at a time when things are going beautifully. This is Leicester though, When have things gone just beautifully? When has anything gone smooth, no hitches, no problems, no disruption? Even when things are going good there is always something waiting round the corner for us. Infact only last night I was saying it's great at the minute but i'm just waiting for that little hitch, problem, fook-up that is waiting round the corner, It's almost expecting something will go wrong soon - It's what we (or I atleast) as Leicester fans have come to learn now.
bigneville Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Yeah but who could we get to replace him? Well I have enough faith in NP to do what he feels is best, maybe Gallacher is already the replacement?
Basingstoke Fox Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Well I have enough faith in NP to do what he feels is best, maybe Gallacher is already the replacement? That is a good point as he hasn't let us down yet. However, personally, I would still rather keep him for now.
Aleksz Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Posters wanting beckford Sweet Jesus of Nazareth, Here we go again.
Pricey Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I think we'd struggle without fryatt, really don't want him to go. Just when i thought we had a near complete, settled squad. I doubt we'd get a good enough replacement in the time we have either.
theoxonfox Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 No way is fryatt gonna leave us for Hull who are on the way down!if anyone wants one of our strikers they can have campbell or dickov or both!!
Tilley Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 For the simple fact tuppence of the £4 million would be re invested in the squad, I wouldn't sell.
Fox You Forest Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Consider, like the actual move the £4mill figure is just something someone has conjured up, knowing there's a bid in the offing is one thing knowing the fee is highly unlikely. So even if it was £4mill; well less Walsall's bit and given that it will probably include a lot of add ons coupled with the odds that Hull could well get relegated we'd be lucky to see £2mill out of that £4mill Then it doesn't look such a hot deal to me. I agree with this man.
THEfox Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Last time we were in this divison we struggled through a lack of goals. Selling a striker who looks to be on form at this stage of the season and so close to the end of the window does not make sense, losing momentum at this point could be detrimental to our campaign. Yes £4 million is a lot of money for our club, but i don't believe it would be a smooth transition in replacing our league one tallismanic striker. Manic!
Bryn Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I can't believe no-one else is saying this! I'd turn it down or at least tell them to come back in January. A few people did. Sweet Jesus of Nazareth, Here we go again. Pathetic.

So why the hell would you want to sell a key member of the squad when things ARE going really well? This is the problem with Leicester fans, instead of just enjoying what we have, we can't let the past go
Salieri Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 It's all ifs and buts, but we have to sell at £4m thats definite, IF it's actually happening. No, we don't.
Guest Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I've had to put maddog back on ignore, thought he'd changed his ways but he's back to talking utter shit
maddog Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I've had to put maddog back on ignore, thought he'd changed his ways but he's back to talking utter shit IMO we should sell him for £4m is what i'm getting at This rumour will be all over the moan in tomorrow like a rash.
MC Prussian Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I'm talking BS again Oh maddog, will you ever stop with your statistics/theories/speculations? Too much time at your hands? Losing Fryatt would certainly be a shock to many, but I wonder what Hull see in him when he's only blossomed at League One level so far?
kam6 Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 no need to sell. whos gonna score the goals without him??? nobody!
jimmygee Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 4 million bargain. sell him. yh hes scored goals but he shud score alot lot lot more than he does. hes missed alot of sitters already this year. sell him and sign beckford or marcus bent and gary mcsheffrey have just been released by birmingham - dont even have to pay for them pair just wages. BYE BYE FRYATT

I don't reckon there will be to many add ons in this sort of deal. Hull are desperate to buy we don't necessarily need the cash so we are in the driving seat. As we have a sell on clause with Walsall to take into consideration we will only take cash up front Mr Brown.
Dan Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Personally would take it and buy Ross McCormack, Gary McSheffrey and make a permanent move for Waghorn, McCormack as the direct replacement, McSheffrey can play up front or left wing and is class at doing it as well, and Waghorn I can just tell will be something special, problem is I don't think £4mil could buy you all 3 of them.

Probably wouldn't even get Waghorn for that. He's very highly rated at Sunderland and i don't think they have any intention of selling him.

Didn't they just turn down a similar valued bid from Hull for McCormack?
