Joe. Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 He's had his criticism from me in the past but I wouldn't want to lose him. £4m would definitely be too good to turn down though, although I seriously doubt Brown would bother spending that kind of money on him. Unproven at Championship level let alone the Premier League. It's be a horrible move for both parties to be honest.

Bryn Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 But they're not desperate, they've got Ghilas and Altidore.
Shrenchel Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I'd probably flog him for four but would have very serious reservations about anything less than that.
casablancas Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Got to admit that 4mil is a pretty good price for us to sell Matty for... However I do feel that this season could be the season for him to prove his worth as a championship level player. I think we should do what we can to keep him, come back in January Mr Brown
L.C.F.C. Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Lets for just a second presume Fryatt is sold, everyone is saying £4million is big money for him, well on paper it looks a lot but what will he be replaced with?? It was made clear by the Cox situation that even if we were in a position to pay £2 million for him, we pulled out because we weren't willing to pay it on a league 1 striker. What makes you think that with £4 million in our pockets we will spend more than £1.5 million on any one player??? From what I've heard, we have capped our wages for new signings on about 10k a week, anyone valued at £1.5 million plus will want more than that. Ask yourselves this question - Would you be happy with losing Fryatt, and (even if most of the transafer fee is put back into the squad, which most of us know it won't be) having him replaced with a £1.5Million Striker and maybe 3 players valued at 500k - 750k???? Personally, at this point, I'd stick with Fryatt. FINAL POINT - The Transfer Window closes in 9 days........................... Values of players rise as the window gets near to closing, as teams get desperate to sign players, and selling teams know they will struggle to get in replacements. The prices we've been thinking of for players are rising as we speak. e.g. Simeon Jackson would prob now be £2million, Beckford £3-£3.5million. (Point already proved with Hull who are being forced to pay £4Million if they want Fryatt!!) Would we actually manage to get anyone else in before the Window closes??
Lisburn Fox Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I've always liked Fryatt even when he was struggling just think he should stay with us and we should do what we can to keep him.
Rocky Dennis Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Can't beleive how many people read something in a tabloid then take it as fact?? I doubt we'd get much more than £2m for Fryatt if anyone was interested, Far better things to worry about than a story created by the fibbers from the redtops!!
richardsfoxes Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Well, im sure we will find out in a day or two as brown always seems to tell the press, who he's "Interested" in and who he has actually bidded for.
C-man Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I'd be disappointed if he left. He's got 48 goals for us now, I'd like to see him stay at us for a few more years yet!
dandannieldanok Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 If true, Phil Brown really is a clueless moron. Don't get me wrong, I like Fryatt and definitely don't want to lose him, but if Brown or anyone else for that matter thinks he can cut it in the premier league right now then they're seriously deluded.
brookfox Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 If he does go I don't know why people are expecting us to sign a replacement other than Kermo. That'd give us Howard and Kermo competing for the big guy role and Gallagher and Waghorn for the sidekick with Dickov basically just hanging around like a bad smell. We'd probably get a new left back, Milan would find a bank somewhere offering interest and we'd reassess the situation in Jan.

brookfox Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I think he'd find it quite interesting in his wallet. He'd have to have a pretty big wallet to fit £4m in crisp tenners in!
davieG Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 He'd have to have a pretty big wallet to fit £4m in crisp tenners in! Even if the figures are true I doubt we'd see half of that after Walsall take their share and add ons are deducted.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Ouch. What a highly intelligent post! Just what I would expect from this guy, who knocks other posters for their lack of quality. This moron believes he is God's gift to being intelligent. He makes out he is some sort of Lecturer, as he talks about his "students. Drop dead sonny, you're a waste of time, and grow up! PILLOCK!
CosbehFox Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I'm tired of Matty Fryatt, it's time for a new striker to start moaning about. Or maybe cos his record so far this season isn't too shabby. Two cracking finishes and a very clever deflection. Mattock didn't think that; Lovely review of him in the fans view of the Observer. 'Appalling in every way' Looking at the story £4 million - lovely stuff but considering he's a well-liked member of the team and so far been an integral part of our decent start, it might be a balls-up. Harsh reality is if there's any hint of truth given the price tag, you just know Mandaric's going to accept. <_< That said it could all be some two plus two equals five from journalists. Local Hull press say they are talking to a striker today/Monday. Phil Brown was at the Swansea game in turn Leicester have a striker in decent form. Brown might have been looking at Joe Allen, the impressive Welsh midfielder?
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Simon Cox was sold for £2m so how the f--ck are we going to get £4m for MF what a laugh.
clazkel Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I think it would be silly to allow Fryatt to go even for 4 million. We need him this season, and he would be difficult to replace. I cant see Mandaric allowing him to go, surely he wants to get into the premiership, and for that you need your key players and Fryatt is definately a key player no matter how many times he is slated on here and many saying he doesnt cut it in the championship, it would be a mistake to let him go Mandaric may see the ££££ signs though but i really hope not!
MPH Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 if 4m is their opening offer then MM will likely try and squeeze another 500k from them....
CKB Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 4 mil? if this is true lmao and if NP is allowed to spend it all then cash in i say!

Brown might have been looking at Joe Allen, the impressive Welsh midfielder? I did mention in another thread or possibly this one that he's already scored almost half of his goal total in his previous 2 seasons for us in the Championship in the first 4 games. 5 goals in 62 in two seasons. 2 goals in 4 now. Which was a 'hint' that i wouldn't mind keeping him. But £4m is too good to refuse. For a player whos Championship record is awful, has never played in the Premiership, and he scored 2 or 3 goals in his first 5 appearences for us in his Leicester career, then went on his shocking run, so 2 goals in 4 means nothing. I think he scored on his debut didn't he Lets see if he can keep it going. He didn't before when he first joined the club, but will he now
Maybes Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 £4,000,000????? Pahaha. Oh please. Matty Fryatt = £4,000,000. I say deal.
