Suffolk_fox Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 Since I came back after my close-season break, I have noticed a lot of people starting their post with the word 'This' (usually with a quote from another poster) When did this start? Is it a piss take? Who started it? Is it really something I am missing out on? Should I start doing it now?
Benji Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 Fcuking hate it Awaits the first person to quote above with this
AjcW Posted 25 August 2009 Posted 25 August 2009 You were so quick you beat my edit! it had to be done really didnt it.
Bert Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 I thought this was a forum for people to express what they want. If people want to say this then they can, if people want to voice their displeasure, then they can.

If people want to say this then they can, if people want to voice their displeasure, then they can. I have no problem with people expressing this. But to just quote someone and put 'This' - well that isn't telling me anything new, just that you agree. You already know that and I don't care...
C-man Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 If you 100% agree with what someone has written, then 'This.' is a simple way to acknowledge it.
ozleicester Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 No big deal, i would rather read "this", than someone waste my time repeating what someone else has already said.
Uncle Albert Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Jesus christ. A thread over the word 'this'.
Uncle Albert Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Already covered by Valerenga. Yeah but that's coming from someone who doesn't know how to use a capital letter.
stez Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Yeah but that's coming from someone who doesn't know how to use a capital letter. this. but also i've noticed the v-man using 'this' from time to time just lately.
Uncle Albert Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 this.but also i've noticed the v-man using 'this' from time to time just lately. <_< You bastard.
Benji Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Why do threads always feel like a battlefield, a battlefield, a battlefield?

Lillehamring Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Already covered by Valerenga. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.ph...c=59045&hl= and it generated 5 pages of people posting 'this'...hilarious.... personally, i just find it totally pointless - you see a new post in a thread open up the thread and someone has has just posted 'this' under someone else's post... if you agree with a post, fair enough, say something, but why not add something else... it's just when the poster simply doesn't bother to add anything useful - not surprisingly the worst culprit is ultra, which in a way is, i suppose, something of a blessing this.but also i've noticed the v-man using 'this' from time to time just lately.
