Basingstoke Fox Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4565034.R...amp;cid=7939086 I think that this would be good if it was a short term deal untill January or something.
Pricey Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 I think that this would be good if it was a short term deal untill January or something. Nah i like the fact we've got 4 good wingers in N'guessan, Gradel, Dyer and Adams. Doubt it's true anyway.

Yeah but it isn't looking like Gradel is getting much game time here and this could be a good move. As long as we can recall him if someone gets injured or something.

I suppose some first team action would be good for him for a few months, but if we got one or two injuries on the wing, it's useful to have the strength in depth.

The Doctor Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 it's only mentioned in the side column which, if i'm right, is just the opinion of one of the staff at the newspaper and not actually a rumour at all.
Guest Bilo Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Probably crap, but it would probably help Maxi if true. He doesn't look like getting much matchtime at the moment and a short-term loan move with first team football couldn't hurt.
Pricey Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Which is why we should have a recall option. Then that would be perfect
Babylon Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Then that would be perfect Not for me it's not... we need a bigger squad this year. Even a 24hour recall could cost us if we get an injury late in the week.
Dr The Singh Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Gradels going nowhere, Nguessen needs some competition to get the best out of him, with Howard being injured he has played as a sort of a target man, hence the reason why gradel didn't play against Preston, but Gradel is hungry, more then a obese lady on slim fast, when he does get his chance he will perform!!!
kam6 Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 I hope that Gradel is not going. Hes been given the no 7 shirt and you need competition for places. Lord Dyer knew he had a start every week cos there wasnt enuff competetion, and he played dyer!!! N'guesson, Adams and Gradel can play left or right and Dyer can play left, thats healthy competition!
Munzie Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 With four wingers in our senior team and a rotational system employed, there's no reason for Gradel to go out on loan. We will face different tactics and types of player throughout this season and need the personnel to be able to change a game with their varying styles.
Ozwin Posted 27 August 2009 Posted 27 August 2009 Hope he stays, I never feel 100% confident when we stick Oakley out on the wing, he's a much better option imo.
Fox92 Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 I would most probably send him there if this is true untill January on a short term basis as long as we can recall him. Never going to play unless there is a serious injury to a player or too and I don't rate him anyway Although he is better than Oakley (when Oakley plays stupid right midfield). N'Guessan and Gallagher better options on the right so no need for Gradel unless, as I said, a serious injury to some players.
Guest Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 Toodles. If Smuts had his way we'd trade him in for good for £10 and a curlywurly
MC Prussian Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 If Smuts had his way we'd trade him in for good for £10 and a curlywurly I thought he was still with Yeovil.
Vlad The Impaler Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 Hope this is true, would be a good move for him and us
davieG Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 Can't see this happening and I can't see how it helps Gradel or the club. Gradel's proved himself at that level over the last 2 seasons the last thing he needs is another 4 months at that level. As for us we need him not only as back up but to give Pearson the opportuinty to have a variety of options to select from. We need a squad this size if we're to do any goodin this league.
milan_foxes Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 I Saw That Gradel To Southampton On Football Rumours the Other Day, It also said that we will be getting Richard Stearman on loan for the season & I cant see that happening...

iancognito Posted 30 August 2009 Posted 30 August 2009 I don't think there's anything in this. If it was Charlton or Leeds or someone at the top end it might be more credible but sending someone who was one of our brighter prospects last season to a club at the arse end of league one into a team that's forgotten how to win would be a bad move all round. Get Steve Guppy back over here from Canada and get him to spend four months teaching Gradel how to cross would be a better idea. Running and beating a man is no good if you've got no end product, which blighted some otherwise good performances from him last season.

Well Gradel needs first team football for international reasons and Leicester need him to be match sharp and without reserve matches how does he get this? Not saying its Southampton, but!!!!
