C-man Posted 30 September 2009 Posted 30 September 2009 You going? Yes mate. Can give you a lift from yours if you want?
Joe. Posted 30 September 2009 Posted 30 September 2009 Yes mate. Can give you a lift from yours if you want? That'd be brilliant mate thanks. Although I should probably remind you that I'm living about 180 miles away from Leicester these days...

Guest Posted 30 September 2009 Posted 30 September 2009 I'd happily give someone a lift if they can help with the parking situation. I must admit a 2 mile walk is a real put off though. I'm sure we parked in some housing estate down near the canal last time we were there. About 0.5-1 mile walk and you have to go past a few pubs full of cov fans (kept my shirt well and truly hidden that time) but it's free. If I can remember exactly where I'll post it up here later
Joe. Posted 30 September 2009 Posted 30 September 2009 Oh yeah I forgot! How are you getting there then mate? Actually mate, I might be going back to Leicester this weekend instead rather than just going to Coventry direct. Would the lift still be alright? I'll let you know confirmation when I'm sorted if that's alright.
JoeyB Posted 30 September 2009 Posted 30 September 2009 This look spromising!http://www.walktrot.com/Football.htm#champ I have booked to park there, and parked there last time i went to. IIRC pub about 5 mins to the left of it, then about 15 mins from the pub to the ground.
AjcW Posted 30 September 2009 Posted 30 September 2009 This look spromising!http://www.walktrot.com/Football.htm#champ The shopping park next door , why is no one ever brave enough to park there, we do it every year, never been ticketed yet, listen if anyone gets a ticket I promise to give you advice on how to get out of it okay, deal ... PARK IN THE SHOPPING CENTRE!!!!! DO ITTTT
BrummieFOX Posted 30 September 2009 Posted 30 September 2009 Row XX Oh yeahh! I hate all the negativity surrounding this fixture, I know it's been a shocker in past years but going with that attitude won't help the atmosphere. Should be a decent game with some nice football being played and I doubt anyone could confidently predict the team Nige is going to put out. I'll be staying clear of this one on my accy - could go either way. "Stand up and support the club!"

lildave3 Posted 30 September 2009 Posted 30 September 2009 Still unsure as to how to get to this. It's annoying that the train station is so far away from the ground. We're going on the train Really hoping there's some sort of bus, otherwise i'll be giving some lucky person a ring and scrounging a lift.
Bert Posted 30 September 2009 Posted 30 September 2009 We're going on the train Really hoping there's some sort of bus, otherwise i'll be giving some lucky person a ring and scrounging a lift. Well I'll be at the train station too. If worse comes to worse, we'll all have to get a taxi. I do however think there's a bus, but it takes the piss. Coventry train station is about three and half miles away from the stadium and really is too far to walk. There is a shuttle bus that operates from the bus station to the Tesco/Arena stadium complex. It departs every 10 minutes and costs £3 return (for adults), otherwise jump in a taxi.Lori Kilpatrick adds; 'there is a bus stop directly outside the train station, from which most passing buses go to the Pool Meadow Bus Station. On checking that the bus indeed goes to the Bus Station ask for a "match day ticket" which will cost you £3.50 and will cover all journeys on that day in Coventry (note no change is given on Coventry buses so have the exact cash ready). Get off at Pool Meadow and look for the stand from which the Football Special Service operates from (there will be probably be a number of other fans in the vicinity). The service number is 101 and runs every 10 minutes from two hours prior to kick off and then returns every five minutes, for one hour after the game has ended. Buses depart after the match from outside the Jewson South Stand'. Tim Sansom a visiting Ipswich Town fan adds; 'After the match there was a massive queue for the six football special buses going back to the city centre. We decided not to wait and walked up to the to the roundabout (signposted Holbrooks) by the stadium and caught the number 13 service back into the city'. Football ground guide.

Karljohn Posted 30 September 2009 Posted 30 September 2009 Guys,I'm thinking of going to this on my own but havent been around that area on a matchday. I hear parking is bad? I cant to fox travel as I wont be coming back to leicester. does anyone have any advice on what I can do about this? Cheers in advance Lee Try the Leisureland parking thing mate, www.walktrot.com, thats where im going....I heard there are a few industrial units that open up for parking, you could try tesco but I work with a cov fan who said its risky, trains...you could goto nuneaton and try and get a bus from there down the A444 route, I live in Atherstone and there is a cov bus solely for games at the ricoh and theres never anyone on it! that passes through nuneaton bus station im sure. Failing that you could park in Bedworth and get a taxi for the last 3 miles...

Guest Bilo Posted 1 October 2009 Posted 1 October 2009 Which train are most peeps taking to Coventry? Can't decide between Leicester-Brum-Chaventry or Leicester-Nuneaton-Chaventry.
lcfcadam Posted 1 October 2009 Posted 1 October 2009 Which train are most peeps taking to Coventry? Can't decide between Leicester-Brum-Chaventry or Leicester-Nuneaton-Chaventry. If you go via Nuneaton you'll have to use a replacement bus between Nuneaton and Cov.
syston_fox Posted 1 October 2009 Posted 1 October 2009 Which train are most peeps taking to Coventry? Can't decide between Leicester-Brum-Chaventry or Leicester-Nuneaton-Chaventry. Theres Arriva busses too if you want another option
