acooling08 Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Just got back. OK first half. Second half was absolutley woeful. If your wondering how I got back so quick it's because we left on 82 minutes because fook all was happening.

colbo68 Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Pathetic. nah!! can't agree it was pathetic - we made more chances than they did, the difference again was that they took them (similar to when we played the Geordies) Our ratio of chances made to chances taken is poor and, as I have said since the end of last season, if we dont break up the Fryatt/Howard partnership this year this will be our downfall. Whatever people say about Howard in terms of commitment, effort and the like (and this is all true - he does try hard) - he is first and foremost a striker and other teams drop their strikers when they arent scoring dont they? As an aside, was nice to see young Ash Chambers come off the bench and score Wycombe's equaliser today.....
ozleicester Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Disapointing...but the unbeaten run at Walkers had to end eventually and PNE sounded a fair side. (cannot understand ANYONE leaving a game early.. EVER!!)
acooling08 Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Shameful behaviour We were verging on diabolical the 2nd half, it was painful to watch at times.

Manderic's pants Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Lots of chances, none of them on target. All of our strikers on the field and the only goal comes from a defender (way too late). 4-3-3 isn't the way forward - Howard needs to be dropped and we need some sodding wingers.
davieG Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 WE huffed and we puffed but we weren't good enough.
Asha Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 I'll be honest and say I was very disappointed today. Firstly, fair play to Preston. First decent side to visit the Walkers this year and they ripped us to shreds. Chaplow particularly, I thought, was very impressive. The disappointing this was there was no real fight, at any point. Coming out for the second half 1-0 down, you really hope to see some spirit and determination, and it just wasn't there for me. Even after our goal, there wasn't the real urgency you'd hope for. And until the goal, I couldn't see us scoring for shit. Definately not a strong performance. So far this season we've been brilliant, and surpassed my honest assessment of how we'd start, so I'm commented on this game alone. I think the Gallagher situation is a problem. I've got no idea what formation or system we were playing today, and I'm not entirely sure the players knew. If we're struggling to find a place for him in the team, do we really need to start him every game? I know he's not playing in his best position, but he isn't really showing anything for me. I'm confident however today was just a blip and that we'll bounce back strongly with at least 3 points from Boro and Cov.
Daggers Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 (cannot understand ANYONE leaving a game early.. EVER!!) I can.
MPH Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 very dissapointed. Kermogrant improved things a little when he came on and i wonder if pearson is considering resting big Steve on tuesday i think our next game is.... i would also be suprised if wellens was played tuesday too. seems like we might need to freshen things a little bit for me its either Tunch or Brown... doesnt really seem to work playing both of them... time to give Brown a break too me thinks...
Guest nathan. Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Shameful behaviour people pay good money, they have every right to
Ozwin Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 We need a new right back, N'Guessen shouldn't play again until he learns to take on his man and Pearson needs to tell Brown that Howard's gone off, so stop hoofing it you tit. I did think that Kermorgant looked fairly decent though, actually won it in the air which I wasn't expecting.
maddog Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Nigel Pearson didn't get away with his awful tactics and formation today. We had no width for the whole of the first half, N'Guessan struggled to get in the game and we had absolutely no left winger. This meant when Berner went forward, which he does well, but when he got caught there was NO left sided midfielder to back him up. This was even worse with Neilson, who again gets forward and into the space well, but he can't shoot, pass or cross for shit, and he's so fooking slow that Preston countered up the right hand side, and Dany was no where to be seen backing up. Combine that with Wayne Browns shocking defending and theres a recipe for disaster. Preston were quicker, stronger, faster than us today, and can actually pass the ball around in the final third very well along the FLOOR. We were totally clueless when Howard went off, totally fooking clueless, still playing the long ball when we should have learnt from Preston and played it on the deck. Fryatt was defending at times because Neilson was caught totally out of position, he had a fooking shocker, if only we could have got Gilbert back. Can someone tell me what Gallaghers role is please? He wasn't playing on the left wing today, we didn't have one at all. NP got it all wrong today, not only did we have no width we had no left midfielder in the first half, and Dany who was poor. Against a quick strong counter attacking side thats very poor from NP. I think Gallaghers a good footballer but Pearson has got to stop playing him wherever he is playing him, this leaves the team totally of balance, and with Berner and Neilson who like to get forward, but are slow getting back especially Robbie, it left us totally caught because we had no width or and no back up on either wing. We were very poor today, but Preston were quality and will go up playing like that every week. Nigel Pearson got it all wrong though, and is ultimately responsible for the defeat today, he needs to sort out the formation and balance of the side at Cov.
Webbo Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Pretty even first half, poor second half. Couldn't understand taking Howard off, we got worse afterwards. Kermogant didn't look bad in his short cameo, need to see more of him before I pass judgement. PS Real fans never leave before the final whistle.
Ozwin Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Why does Pearson insist on starting Brown? He's not played well for ages, it should have been Hobbs and Tunchev.
maddog Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Why does Pearson insist on starting Brown? He's not played well for ages, it should have been Hobbs and Tunchev. Because Hobbs was mostly responsible for 2 of the Watford goals.
Soar Fox Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Please please don't play Robbie Neilson again!!! 92nd Minute pressure is on PNE he is 30 yards out and shoots!!!
Matt Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Disappointed to say the least, but if you'd have asked me if i'm happy with how the season is going so far before the game i'd have said yes, 1 loss isn't going to throw that all out the window, We haven't lost any places in the league (So I understand), I'm just disappointed and worried about our performance since Peterborough though. However Peterborough and Watford we didn't lose, We just play shit (In the 2nd half v Watford anyway) so perhaps now we have lost we can use it and turn it into a positive result and it will give them a kick up the backside. I fear going to Middlesborough on Tuesday as it will be a very tough game, but it's the type of game we'd go and win. We need to sort ourselves out. P.s - Fook off Radio Leicester mongholes - Nearly put my fist through the car radio on the way home.
Ozwin Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 And he missed a sitter, professional footballer with loads of time and he leans back and skies it.
Bert Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Don't get me wrong, preston are no mugs and will almost certainly be in the play-offs this season. We had no match to their physical game.
maddog Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 O god Boro away Tuesday, i fear 2 defeats in a row. YES 2 defeats in a row for us! I can't believe it's actually happened
lcfcadam Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 Robbie Neilson was truly awful today - the worst performance I've seen by a City player since Carl Cort. Still think he's worth another chance but needs to sort himself out fast. On a more positive note (I'm sure it's already been mentioned): http://www.coventrycity-mad.co.uk/news/loa...6&id=465103 Good omen for next weekend?
