Daggers Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 I think a lot of this: Everything about this screams of a disater signing. He's old, he hasn't played for a year, his career was on a downer before that anyway, he might disrupt the squad, he will be on a huge wage etc etc. Then I think this: Edgar Davids in a city shirt. :-) But mainly I think this: Everything about this screams of a disater signing. He's old, he hasn't played for a year, his career was on a downer before that anyway, he might disrupt the squad, he will be on a huge wage etc etc.
Corky Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 He's no Andy King If he does sign, I wish him the best and will give him my support. Still not sure about it all though.

Vlad The Impaler Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 If Pearson thinks he's good enough, then so do I
Kilworthfox Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 I saw him play for Ajax.I fucking love Ajax. Yeah but they are no Feyenoord
Budweiser Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 just thought the exact same thing followed closely by the roar of a sell out crowd & the abuse Mattock will get. Oh the prospect of Davids playing against West Brom. Delightful (though he clearly isn't going to be fit, even IF we do sign him) Anyway, it's Edgar FOOKING Davids.
MPH Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 :w00t: David Henson!!!! get your pen ready!!!! :w00t:

Now 36.... The Championship is not a division that an ageing superstar can rest on his reputation, I am worried by his age, but reassured by his pedigree.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 21 October 2009 Author Posted 21 October 2009 I don't care what anyone else thinks, I am dead glad that my name is associated with starting and breaking the news to Foxes Talk about Edgar Davids. Hall of fame it and knight me for my services to FT, after he signs of course you know it makes sense ON THE SUBJECT... I'm trying to stay rational, I don't want to dream of him in a Citeh shirt, because it's likely this might not happen, and it'll be the anti-climax of the minellium. And my thoughts echo most, as dangerous as this signing could be for the team spirit, managerial-chairman relations (i.e we sign him and then Nige don't pick him, Milan wouldn't be pleased) it's EDGAR DAVIDS man, the man with the glasses, HERE, AT LEICESTER. Part of me is desperate he signs and makes his debut at Reading or QPR, if he plays well Man City might bid £25m for him.

Daggers Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 I'm telling you - he will be shit. We're not talking about signing Davids - we're doing nothing more than potentially signing the memory of Davids. Does no one stop to wonder why no one has come in for him until us? Do you not think that there's a shit good reason for this? Mandaric strikes again. willy puller.

He has not played football for almost 18 months! Why has no one offered him a deal until now?
Gené and Tonic Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 It's odd that if we sign him it'll be suicide but I'd still love it to happen anyway

Guest Bilo Posted 21 October 2009 Posted 21 October 2009 Who cares, it's Edgar FOOKING Davids. And Pearson wants him too, whos too say Pearson didn't tell Milan that he wants him. Can't see Pearson having a 36 year old who hasn't played at all for 18 months on the top of his wishlist, however good he once was. Daggers is right, when you cut through all the bullshit and hype, the likelihood this will be an awful signing if (and it's a big if) it comes off at all. We'll get a small amount of extra exposure in the press, sell a few shirts to the naive and starstruck and maybe bump the attendance over the 30,000 mark for his debut but the benefits are likely to stop there.

Ah, but we'd also get the (dubious) pleasure of witnessing you totter through Leicester in those thigh-high boots and short skirt.
