Midfield Dilemma

With Oakley King and Clemence potentially all unavailable against Plymouth how would you line us up?

Could Bruno cut it in the centre, by all accounts he was dire on Saturday.

Could Hobbs play in King's midfield defensive role (He is listed as a DM and CB on Pro Evo 2008)

Should we change formation? Is Morrison good enough at this level to play in a back 5?

---------------------------------Weale---------------------------------

-------------Hobbs------------ Brown ---------- Morrison------------

Neilson------------------------------------------------------Mcgivern-

---------------------------------Wellens-------------------------------

--------------Dany/Gallagher----------------Bruno-------------------

--------------------------Fryatt---------Waghorn----------------------

I've always been a fan of this formation, Bruno will support Mcgivern, and Neilson and Mcgivern's defensive frailties will be covered by the extra centre back, less responsibiltiy on Bruno as a part of a midfield 3. It would need Wellens to have a good game and Neilson will be a little exposed, but I'm not really sure what options we have in the middle. I'm not sure NP will change the formation though.

The other option would be to have Gallagher playing behind the front 2 but that would give us very little width and put extra pressure on our full backs.

I reckon we'll have someone in on loan by then. Got 2 weeks to do it....

What's Darron Gibson doing these days?

Injured? On loan anywhere else?

Think he'd fit in well up til January.

Fortunate we have 2 weeks really, but what if we didn't and we were playing on Wednesday or we can't get anyone? How would you line them up?

Well my answer to that is we're not playing Wednesday, so it's pretty insignificant.

Berner and Wellens would be the most natural I guess.

Stick to 4-4-2. No point making wholesale changes to a formation hardly anyone at the club is used to as we have never used it this season. And Berner has had experience and a couple of good games in the middle.

So Neilson, Brown, Hobbs and McGivern at the back

Dany/Gally, Berner, Wellens and Dyer in the middle.

Fryatt/Howard up front.

I reckon he'll play Wellens, Berner, Adams and N'Guessan/Dyer or Wellens, Berner, Gallagher and N'Guessan/Dyer with Howard up front and plenty of hoooooooof with the midfield concentrating on defensive duties.

The order of the day being do not lose.

Wellens and Gallagher in centre, Adams and N'Guessan on the wings. Simple.

That is the obvious side and assuming we do not get anyone in then I would not expect Pearson's selection to be much different.

We will of course play poorly, but Plymouth are wretched this season and we will scrape a win so that will be alright.

Yep. Happy with a win. Just hope we don't do what we do against Derby. Dominate but not capitalise.

2 weeks is loads of time. King looked a bit serious but I reckon Oakley'll be fit.

A loan would be nice though, we could do with 1 or 2 tbh.

Oakley may be fit but he's banned.

But he will still be suspended.

I would like to see Adams given a chance. Will Gradel be back by then?

We won' get anybody in on loan because Isaiah Osbourne is no longer available

Probably, but I doubt he'd go straight in. Plus, Leeds are looking to extend his deal I think.

Levi Porter?

I thought he was a figment of Thracian's over active imagination. :giggle: :giggle:

We are at home so I would love to see Adams, Wellens and Dyer in midfield with Waghorn, Fryatt and N"Guessan up front.

More likely that Porter will get a game than anything attacking and inventive.....

If we dont get someone in on loan by then (which I think we will) this:

N'Guessan - Wellens - Berner/Adams - Dyer

Hopefully Gradel might come back and be in with a chance but I cant see it.
