davieG Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Then, like most of his charges, he does a good line in simulation. One way he likes this well...On Saturday it will be a squad selection for Round 3 so, come the 9th January, the majority of your regulars will have played only once in four weeks - a lengthy, unofficial winter hiatus. And that's a damn good thing, particularly in view of the unusually inclement weather that you've been experiencing. As a consequence of your two postponements your stretcher cases and walking wounded lists have barely increased, some of your long term casualties may now be available for the rearranged fixtures and then there's the further bonus of some additional firepower coming through the window in January. So you face the 'unfortunate' prospect of a well rested, fully recuperated and enlarged squad for the remainder of the campaign. Hard to believe that your postponements were not the result of collusion (perish the thought that my wily fellow countryman would engage in underhand tactics!). Looks like your high command are going for 'autoprom'. And I have a hunch that you'll do it. Wouldn't it be great to have a real life replay of '96 and see thousands of lachrymose Tooners watch their team implode in the final weeks of the season? Memo to Foxes - kick Nolan senseless at The Walkers (those who live by the studs die by the studs!). By the sound of it the majority of posters do not like this well. A serious consequence of being a fan is developing a small mind and being blind to the big picture. No amount of promotions can compensate for a lost Awayday or a tank of unleaded. Particularly those that want to remain in the Chumpship to experience the peverse pleasures of breakers yards and botulism. So you're not even a supporter of LCFC?

Could please tell me in one short sentence what this essay-like statement has got to do with the Doncaster match being called off? I can't spot any connection whatsoever, especially in the latter stages of your out-write.
Daggers Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 So you're not even a supporter of LCFC? And, I'm guessing, Lancashire must be dead tropical at this time of year.
Radovan's Caravan Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 And, I'm guessing, Lancashire must be dead tropical at this time of year. Warmish...many a blind man has mistaken Novi Sad for Manchester when it rains
DB11 Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 There are no (non-swear words) to describe the utter annoyance, anger and frustration I am feeling right now.Fvcking hell, will we ever play another fvucking away game? It begs the question as to how we played Walsall last season in snow week, if the referees are too sensitive for a bit of frozen pitch Because it's the referee who is slide tackling and everything on the frozen pitch
Master Fox Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Rather rubbish news This is the problem with gypo teams like Doncaster and their pitches

samjohnson Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 I would have thought, beings that the Keepmoat is a fairly new ground, some form on measures would have been installed (even if its a big tesco carrier bag over the pitch) to ensure that games go ahead

Matt Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 This is a fucking joke. Don't fucking believe it. So where are we going to slot these 2 games in now. I thought this game was (Quote) "Definetly going to go ahead". What I don't understand it Walsall most notably and other games in League One went ahead last year, how? I'm sure it was no worse, Another thing I don't understand - How come we have had 2 games against clubs with new grounds called off this season? When the likes of Peterborough for example with lets be fair got worse ground facility's can get a game on? It's a fucking joke. So we've gotta fit in 2 games now, If we lose both I will be very annoyed. At this rate Waghorn's ban will never be over either.
Matt Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Oh yeah, Just to keep the 'racism' from me consistent (I.e - Bastard Welsh Sheepshagger)....Fucking soft Northern Cunts.
Legend_in_blue Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Although we are on the receiving end of another tin-pot teams failure to get a game running, we should consider this a good outcome. It gives all the CBs time to recover and once the game is over and done with against another tin-pot team from Wales next weekend, in what is nothing more than an irritant, we can get on and concentrate on consolidating our playoff position.
Guest Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Thanks to the kind soul who let us know before we got onto the motorway. Can I just state, and I think you'll agree, I'm just glad I am not...A) the person who told Pearson the game was off and B) That I am not anywhere near Mr. Pearson at this moment in time If he was annoyed at the Cardiff game, he'll be fuming now Not as fuming as I am. Anyone who has ever visited Doncaster will feel my wrath. you can almost garantee we will draw with swansea now just to give us another midweek game to worry about If it's 1-1 with 30 seconds to go, I would hope that Weale throws the ball into his own net. I would have loved a cup run, but now we have the two games to rearrange in the league, I would rather concentrate on those than have yet another mid-week fixture to schedule.
lou Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Its all very well our CB's having time to come back from injuries but were more likely to pick up more knocks playing additional games in midweek
ousefox Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Just got back now after having to spend a day in fooking Doncaster. I don't know how the pitch could be frozen after they knew about the weather and how it could affect the game for at least a week. The annoying thing for me is that it is so much colder and there is a lot more Ice on the ground in York than in Doncaster where i didn't see anything like that. I'm not able to get to a game til February now and it is very unlikely that i will be able to get to the rearranged fixture on Tuesday night as i have parents who are not really interested in football and will not appreciate going to Doncaster on a cold Tuesday night.

At least I hadnt left the house today. Spending any time in Doncaster is never good <_<
MPH Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Its all very well our CB's having time to come back from injuries but were more likely to pick up more knocks playing additional games in midweek possibly. but i guess it would still be less dangerous than playing on a hard surface... ahh ignore me... im just trying to find positives from an annoying day
Stuliasz Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Arrived at the Beefeater next to the ground at 11am. Found out at 11.01 that it had been called off. Shambolic how a new ground such as that doesn't have undersoil heating, but I suppose it could have been worse - they could have had it and failed to connect it...

I was there also was looking forward to a meal and a few pints, didnt bother eating in there drove straight back to where I live in Atherstone and had 2 meals for 9 quid, it was a 175 mile round trip for a bar meal in my local. I do feel Doncaster Rovers have no been honest about the state of there pitch as why would Pearson be there that early they just wanted out money and to hell with the supporters. There is no way I am going to the replay I want my money back.
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Lets pretend, Lets pretend, lets pretend weve scored a goal played away......... GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Jfox Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 we have 10 possible game reschedule dates: Tuesday 5th Jan (Prob too soon) Tuesday 12th/Wednesday 13th Jan (FA cup replay if needed) Saturday 23rd Jan (FA cup 4th Round if needed) Tuesday 2nd Feb (FA cup 4th round repley if needed) Tuesday 23rd Feb (FA cup 5th round repley if needed) Tuesday 2nd March Tuesday 9th March Tuesday 30th March Tuesday 13th April Tuesday 20th April Tuesday 27th April However, if we reach the 5th round of the fa cup, the s****horpe game will be moved, if we reach the quater finals, the sheffield wednesday game will be moved and if we need a repley the crystal palace game will be moved. Also games like Blackpool and barnsley could be called off. Blackpool could particularly be a problem because they already have two games to fit in.
