Sounds like a good loan signing and Man City do have a good record for producing talented youngsters. Gives us extra options at left-back after the departure of Mattock and could well grow into a good player at Championship level.

I dont know how big the squad is but for the first time i actually feel like we have a complete squad with all positions well covered.

and i echo the sentiments of some... it would be very unfair to drop Berner right now... but will he stay consistent and, more important, injury free?

Totally agree. NP is very good at getting the players he needs. He knows which positions are lacking and he sorts it. I am very excited about this season.

Agreed. In fact we've now got 20 players, all of whom could very comfortably slot into the starting 11 without looking like a weak link.

The squad looks very well balanced, lots of competition for places in the starting 11. Not relying on 1 or 2 of the squad as we have done in previous seasons. For me the really interesting thing will be the level that the squad finds itself at as the season settles down. We've certainly come a huge way in the last 16 months. Fair play to NP and MM, top effort without breaking the bank.

Wholly agree with this.

The main thing is that nobody can rest on their laurels as we have strength in depth for once, and it's not as if NP would have to be forced to make changes as there are decent alternatives available. This should ensure that there are no passengers assured of a place however they play as we have suffered in the past. I'm excited about what this team can achieve under Pearson.

I'm liking the thinking behind all of the signings so far, us as fans have seen where needs strengthening and Pearson has, unlike preivious managers who didn't seem to plan their signings. We now have a structure in place with players only coming in if Pearson feels they will fit in or add something that is missing, no player is bigger than the team and I feel that nobody will be played just for the sake of it.

Was talking to my uncle earlier, we both agreed on the fact that the players NP starts with are great, but also he has alot of good players on the bench.

Great signing. As you say it seems like all areas are covered, but I do feel like we should get a goalie in on loan just as backup. It would be completely impossible and unfair to drop Weale as he's been doing a great job so far, but if an injury were to arise, we'd be left with Logan and some untried goalies from the academy. I don't feel that comfortable with the prospect of having to play Logan if Weale were injured, so getting a Stockdale type goalie as cover would make this squad perfect.

You can get an emergency goalie in on loan at any time so why pay for one when you don't need one.

Agreed. On McGivern, hopfully he'll be a great signing, especially if he has pace (does anyone know?). Although if Man City were loaning him out, you'd of thought that would be with a few to him getting first team action, as otherwise he may aswell stay there. This could mean he'd be first choice ahead of Bruno?

Will have more chance of first team here as we only have Berner as a 1st team left back(Powell I believe is last ditch inury cover), where as Man City have Bridge and Silvinho.

He's here to replace Berner. Can't see the obsession with Berner myself. Decent player but a bit negative in possession for Pearson, methinks.

Great signing, I'd say he's probably better than Mattock. Strong squad we got there. I feel one goalkeeper (back-up) and one defensive midfielder (back-up) and the squad is complete, but it's there already.

I fooking love our current management team. How many times in the past have we as fans realised where we are lacking in players position-wise and how many times did we fail to strengthen!! Like when we were desperate for a left-back, yet signed a succession of terrible right-backs. Our team/squad has never been so well balanced! This time 8 or 9 days ago, we all agreed that we maybe need one or two strikers and a young left-back as cover for berner (and Powell). So what does Pearson do, sign 3 right-backs?? NO, he brings in two strikers and a left-back!! Brilliant! I know we haven't really seen them play yet but I trust Pearson's judgement and lets be honest this Mcgivern lad is probably better than Mattock. We have massive strength in depth now, better than most Championship clubs imo. We have two quality players for every position now, with maybe the exception of goalie but like we have said, if Weale does get injured, we could easily get Stockdale or Martin in again on an emergency loan so no problems there!

What a great time to be a Leicester City fan!! I know comparisons with MON have already started. He's not there yet but he's well on his way!

And a win on monday could send us top!! C'mon the foxes!!

Good signing and I Agree with all comments on here, I think we could do with another winger though, but that's just being greedy :P

Got a really good feeling about this season, I've seen enough signs already to tell me that we we will be in and around the top 6 come May, we can beat anyone in this league.

I think that I like the majority of City supporters realise that we have a great guy in charge in NP & he in turn has a brilliant staff supporting him.

They just seem to have a talent for bringing in very good players without MM having to spend his millions,

Just list all of the players that Nigel has signed (Dickov excepted), and ask yourself how many are still here & playing an important role in the squad. Answer, all of them! How many flops has he signedI Answer, none!

The players all seem to have a lot of respect for the guy & there doesn't appear to be any big egos within the squad, a great team spirit exists.

Young McGivern is I am sure going to be another ace in the squad.

MM must not allow Big Nige to leave City as & when the vultures come along trying to poach him, he is our greatest assett & we must hold onto him if we are to become an established Premiership club.

To see if McGivern is involved against Newcastle, contact the ticket office before Monday midday, either in person, by phoning 0844 815 5000 or e-mail [email protected].

A touch pedantic, I know, a little immature and perhaps rather obvious, but as advised I've just sent an email to the ticket office asking them if McGivern's going to be playing... :giggle:

Sorry to be a spoil sport but I can think of one - Astrit. Why did he sign him permanently in the summer? Hasn't even appeared on the bench yet? Plus we have 4 more capable wingers already so he's not likely to get a look in, I didn't think he looked that good when he was on loan last season. Maybe he has future potential, I'd like to see him go on loan for a while somewhere to get some game time which is what he really needs.

For the last time.

DICKOV WAS A MANDARIC SIGNING.

Astrit could be one for the future, but seeing as he cost bugger all he can hardly be classed as an Akinbiyi scale failure even if he does badly. I can't see how anyone can fault Pearson's dealings in the transfer market to be honest, especially after the pathetic recent history of other managers here.

Even if Astrit and Verma ends up as utter failures, Pearson's record is still pretty good. Even Ferguson and Wenger makes wank signings now and again. There is no manager out there who has a 100% success rate in signings.

I've heard good things about this lad McGivern.

Dyer, Gradel, N'gussean, Oakley, Waghorn, Gallagher and Adams not enough for you?
