bald reynard Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 Does everyone agree that we desperately need 1 or 2 new midfielders ? It clearly is the real problem area in the team - probably the main reason why the strikers are not scoring, or we as a team are not scoring enough goals in general. Oakley is a disaster this season (is he related to NP is some way - why else does he keep getting pickde ?!), Wellens has faded, King is inconsistent. Perhaps ONE answer is to bring back Wesolowski, who is doing really well at Hamilton - he would cost nothing. Also I would give Gradel another 'go' now. Otherwise, we need to sign at least one - buy or loan (what's Cleverley's deal with Watford ?).

Please tell me you are joking, I'd do well for Hamilton. Besides, he was out injured AGAIN yesterday. And for the last time we will not get Cleverley back. He is a Watford player until the end of the year, had Ferguson wanted us to have him this season he would have been here already.
Shrenchel Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 Some really good points you've made there mate. Perhaps you should keep your ideas off the forum though and just email them straight to Pearson. We wouldn't want any opposition managers getting hold of this masterplan.

It's good to know you could do well for Hamilton - when's your trial up there ? I was only suggesting Weso as one option - but then, as you no doubt know more than most, NP will probably take your view. Also, I was asking about Cleverley - why do you get so worked up (I hadn't seen a post saying Cleverley is at Watford all season) ?

l444ry Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 Heaven forbid that Leyton Orient score from an Adams cross. How long after will the siren calls begin?
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 Whats the deal with Clemence these days? Is he still injured, still shit or both? Not saying I necessarly want to see him in the side, but just wondered?
CosbehFox Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 Whilst I see King as more than good enough for the division and Wellens as a very good player at this level. I'd love us to sign a centre midfielder who could run through brick walls and then a cm/winger who could create something out of nothing. We don't even appear to have a player who can hit it true.
lou Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 Weso back? No thanks Much as Id love to have Cleverley back - it aint ever gonna happen If I knew what the answer was Id be Manager of a football club now
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 Whats the deal with Clemence these days? Is he still injured, still shit or both? Not saying I necessarly want to see him in the side, but just wondered? No doubt when Birch gives us the update on the football forum he wil say the same thing and thats just that he has started training but is a long way off yet. I think although if he remained fit Weso could do a jobe for us, it doesnt solve the fact that we have 3 good average players in Oakley, King and Wellens who NP nearly always wants to play meaning that Oakley usually is in the right then that means playing one less winger. I have to say that I always thought Weso could be good ffor us though, and would like to see him given a chance but then the question is how to reshape the midfield?

By any chance is this opinion been created partially on the back of him being a star player for a few years on Football Manager for us? I wouldn't be suprised if this is where the original poster got the idea from! I had thought he'd gone permanently, shows how much i know, but I don't really think he's an option that would consistantly get in front of the current three, and even if he did, chances are he'd get injured.
Bert Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 Cleverley will not play for us ever again unless he permanently signs for us.
