Edmund Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 I hope this is just a loan and not mandatory to take him for an agreed fee in the summer like we did with Brown. Really not a massive fan from what I've seen but will at least give him a chance. Hopefully he makes us all eat our words but I find it hard to be inspired by this signing.

dandannieldanok Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 I'm pleased we've got him in, the guy has got vast experience (100+ apps at this level) playing in a good Ipswich team under Magilton, not the shit Ipswich team under Keane. I'm also pleased it's a loan, very low risk that way. Welcome Brucie.
Bluefoxtim Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 I swear you were one of the goons saying the exact same thing about Weale and Bristol City when we signed him and now having to lick humble pie off your bollocks like some kind of rabid dog. Do you ****** never learn?! Brilliant. 1. Nice of you to omit the rest of what I wrote. 2. Some evidence would be nice. disabled.
milan_foxes Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 i know i was the one that posted it in transfer talk:)thats what i meant Ohh sorry, havent looked.
davieG Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 I'd have....Berner, LB Bruce&Hobbs, CB Morrison, RB. Anything wrong with that ? Because all 3 CBs all right sided players.
leicesterfox86 Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 http://www.lcfc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10274~1951898,00.html Decent player. Happy with that. Another capable squad player.
Guest Bilo Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 Don't know much about him but extra cover at central defence can't be a bad thing. The fact that he can play at right back could mean that Neilson starts to be frozen out a little though.
Sparky Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 Because all 3 CBs all right sided players. Never seen the problem of that myself, its only a small adjustment to play left centre back if your right sided/footed. Id always play the best 2 centre halfs regardless of which side they prefer

Id always play the best 2 centre halfs regardless of which side they prefer Hobbs was tried there and was awful, Morrison could adapt but is obviously much more comfortable on the right as is shown by his performances at RB. Not sure about Bruce but there's no mention of him ever playing on the left. I'm sure it can be done but someone who is primarily a left-sided CB would have been preferred otherwise it increases the number of players not in their natural/most comfortable positions. The truth is we probably can't afford one.

Id always play the best 2 centre halfs regardless of which side they prefer Absolutely not true. There is a big difference and this is the main reason Morrison and Hobbs rarely play together even though the are, individually, our best central defenders. From his record Bruce is another right sided defender, hope I'm wrong on this, but I don't think so!

Fox92 Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 Lets give him a chance. Ok, he may not be the greatest defender in the division, but I am sure that he can provide the back up needed.
maddog Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 Not going to solve our goalscoring crisis is he At least NP has basically admitted signing Neilson was a mistake by bringing in this guy.
C-man Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 Yep signing a CB on loan is admitting your right back is a poor signing
jonw88 Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 Not going to solve our goalscoring crisis is he Tony Warner has been released by Hull, could snap him up on a free? Would provide adequate back-up for Weale at least and got on okay last season with us.
Thracian Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 Can't ever recall watching the bloke but if he cannot cement a place in the Ipswich team ahead of McAuley I'm not filled with anticipation. At 25, he should be making his presences felt in the game. Besides for me our priority is a striker who can score regularly. DJ is probably the second most natural scorer we have after Fryatt and he's not an option cos he's off to Blackpool. N'Guessan is arguably next in line and the rest either flatter to deceive or, in Howard's case, no longer quite seems to have the sharpness necessary despite sometimes valuable contriibutions.

It's an option.
willchafer Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 this is cover at least for the defence...not as if mcgivern and neilson are much use, also we need somebody who will happy to be on the bench so this could be the chap
StanSP Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 this is cover at least for the defence...not as if mcgivern and neilson are much use, also we need somebody who will happy to be on the bench so this could be the chap No-one is ever 'happy' to be on the bench. It's not exactly what a footballer strives to do.
Legend_in_blue Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 I've nothing to say on this matter. Perhaps all us season ticket holders who renew before March 31 can bring in the necessary funds to find the next Solano or at least give us another 'Davids-esque' style comedy transfer story.
