Simo86 Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 As John Terry has been stripped of his captaincy, who does everyone think Capello will appoint as his World Cup captain? A few names that will be thrown into the hat will no doubtedly be Gerrard, Lampard, Ferdinand and Rooney. I am undecided as of yet but was wondering what everyones views were on this subject.
Simi Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Gerrard was considered the second favourite last time so I don't see how he won't get it. However, Rooney is having a fantastic season and seems to be really maturing, this could be Gerrard's last World Cup so giving it to Rooney would seem a better long term option.

Nah we want Rooney to concentrate on being our best player, not having the added 'burden' of being England captain. 'Cos apparently it's so important and you have to be a good 'role model'. Lampard please. Think he'll be big for us this summer.
