Everyone in the team can have a 4 as far as I'm concerned.

Had we played a system which would have allowed more free-flowing attacking football which created more chances, i.e. 4-4-2, no doubt I'd have given them 7s. Unfortunately, the system didn't allow it.

Tactically, NP can have a 2.

Weale 6.5 (An alert attacker might have taken advantage when he spilled the ball in foiling one attack but his judgement was sound once again on a night when a deckchair might have been as useful to him as apair of goalkeeping gloves such was the demand for his services)

Berner 7 (Continued to demonstrate that our gaping defensive holes have largely been plugged).

Hobbs 5 (How I wish he'd just win the ball and pass it rather than trying to clever and dribble where it's not necessary).

Brown 7 (I laughed when I saw him deftly control a high ball and immediately feed it off with a 10-yard pass. Seconds later he was in a similar position but hooved it aimlessly down the line. That's the Browny I'm used too but for all that he was mostly a defensive rock tonight).

Morrison 6 (Steady enough but disappointing when he tried to venture forwards).

Oakley 5.5 (Industrious enough but not consequential enough).

King 7 (Once again, the one player we had who continued trying to make the ball do the work. Twice in a couple of minutes he almost unlocked the visiting defence, first providing the perfect chance for Gallagher which was squandered and then finding Waghorn in an excellent position before the chance was ruined by poor close control. There was another clever through pass earlier which also threatened a goal but in the end he too started to tire and to find himself stretched to keep moving box to box).

Wellens 4 (Increasingly gave the ball away too much thus costing his colleagues valuable energy.).

Gallagher 6 (Why the bloke was taken offI don'tknow. Okay, he missed agolden chance to be a hero but he was one of the few tonight who found a way through Doncaster's defence to make the chance. Generally tried hard to be contructive but admittedly with mixed success).

N'Guessan 5.5 (Chased some lost causes with enthusiasm but reverted to his old habit of running into brick walls on the flank and failing to do the simple things quickly. I much prefer him in and around the penalty area.).

Fryatt 6.5 (Lively and promising until his stretchered departure. Just hope his headache soon clears and the jaw mends well and reasonably quickly).

Waghorn 5 (If he really is a striker he doesn't show it very often. Too blinkered, too one-footed and no-where near clever enough is my impression - and one which was only further reinforced by this evening's effort).

Dyer (Just a passing cloud).

Howard (Seemingly intent just on winning free-kicks with his exaggerated histrionics. The referee wasn't having it and Icouldn't really blame him for once.)

How did Doncaster play? They're our next fixture.

We played worse than I have seen in a long time and we were still the better team. I really wouldn't worry.

As for ratings - 5 for everyone other than Berner and Morrison who achieve a 6

Weale-6 good catch :giggle:

Morrison- 6 meh

Hobbs- 6

Brown- 6

Berner- 7 looked more attacking than the 'wingers'.

Oakley- 6 I thought he had a decent game.

Wellens- 3 Why bring him back ??? tries ambitious through balls all the time rarely suceeding.

King- 6 did his job ok.

Galley- 4 Far too inconsistant, does some great touches but just looks lazy and gives the ball away >_< What a chance that was at the start of the second half.

N'Guessan- 5 Ineffective today due to negative tactics from Donny.

Fryatt- 6 looked bright until being pole-axed.

Subs:

Waggy- 6 only one that looked like scoring, but incredibly frustating when he in a crossing position.

Dyer- 4 where were you?

Howard- N/A brought to late on imo.

Pearson 6- could see things weren't working tryed to inject pace. Made his last change too late imo, SH couldn't effect the game in 3 mins.

Donny tactics- 0 so negative.

Shit game, 2 shit teams, shit ref, shit atmosphere.

If MM had a conscience he would reimburse everyone that attended the game with their hard earned money.

The bad news is, I'll be there again on Saturday! God help me!

Brown my MOM with a score of 6, the remaining players average 4 each.

I don't recall a single shot on target.

Just to top off a bloody crap night, my son had a parking ticket when we got back to his car!

If playing football badly was a crime, this lot'd be in hell having drinks with Ted Bundy...
