Fosse Boy Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 Continental SK1 against Swansea was not in a race to get through songs. I think the slow version of When You're Smiling was absolutely beautiful in there. Just a shame a large proportion of everybody else seemed confused by what they were hearing and sat with blank and disapproving expressions on their faces. What a day that was. Attempted it at Blackpool several times but it just kept getting faster and faster as the song went on.
davieG Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 I have a dream that one day this stadium will rise up and sing out the full rythmic version of When Your Smiling and finish with 30000 pairs of hands waving together in harmony. Apologies to MLK.
lcfcadam Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 I love Carnival de Paris personally, we should probably save it for when we score, but it's great at getting L1 jumping.Maybe it's because it has a constant beat so we don't sing it at 200wpm like we do with When You're Smiling. As has been said before, this is the problem with having actually quite a difficult song to sing as your club's anthem. The beginning and end are fine, but during the middle, everyone seems to have a different idea of the words and it just falls to pieces every time. I think the reason Carnavale de Paris (or whatever) is coming to promenece a bit more these days is because apparently Jobber's learnt the drum beat for the introduction. That it is - when he does it it looks like quite a good workout...
MrSpaM Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 Post from a Forest fan on another forum:Right, I'm going to be very frank here. Before you say it, I'm not bitter Firstly, that was one of the most unpleasant afternoons I have ever experienced. Leicester fans must rank up there with some of the most irksome fans around. This is going on the MANY Leicester fans I know and am friends with and also the fact that I was surrounded by some of these numbskulls yesterday. A minutes applause was impeccably taken by our fans for the death of an ex-Fox who the majority of us had never heard of. Yet later in the game chants of "Brian Clough what a w****r" were chorusing around the place, with some mugs behind me very close to being swung at. It wasn't even just those teenagers in that chavvy L Block ( at them cutting up a Forest shirt and throwing it about btw). I was opposite them in A block and there were numbskulls singing it. Possibly the most moronic bunch of fans I have ever encountered. I have never heard such shit spouted at a football match as I have yesterday. I gave myself away as a Red midway through the second half and understandably had quite a few people around me tell me where to go, whilst getting a lot of stick as I walked out around 80 minutes in. But seriously, the cry of "sing when your winning" has never rung so true. It was like a morgue in that place (bar 2,500 fans tucked away in a corner of the ground), until your first goal. Oh and another point. This stadium that Forest are planning on building for the WC. I hope they take a look at the Walkers stadium and then build the complete opposite. I'd never been before and was expecting something better. Aesthetically a nice ground, but it generates no noise whatsoever as vocal fans seem to have nowhere to congregate. Can't say we were overly impressed with the amount of racist chanting, thats even been brought up on your own forums, either. Our songs are kept to football banter, the colour of your skin, especially since most of your team isn't white, really shouldn't come into it. Unfortunatly your fanbase seems to launch race hate at your own team for half the match, no wonder your players seemed to give up.
chesterfox Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 Erm, did you read the very start of the post? no offence Cobbo - I was having a go at the F*&est twat. Must learn to read the whole post!!!
Babylon Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 They let us win, so that we didn't have to listen to the doom mongers who only appear on here after draws and losses.

I'd never been before and was expecting something better. Aesthetically a nice ground, but it generates no noise whatsoever as vocal fans seem to have nowhere to congregate. Onto the game. I think any Leicester fan will admit the score flattered them. I truly don't know what happened. The first 45 minutes were a non-event, with us taking control for the latter parts of the half. The second half we started of wellish with a lot of possession. Then it all went wrong. I've not seen the highlight but in the build up to that first goal when the freekick came in it looked like our player was pulled down by a Leicester lad. However, the fans around me were appealing for a penalty so maybe I'm wrong. Second goal was a class freekick and after that it was game over. The third goal, a horrible deflected goal, completed a thoroughly miserable afternoon. But the most painful thing about this defeat is the fact that Leicester looked about as average as we did all game. They never dominated. They were never on top. They took the lead through a scrappy goal then banged in a great freekick and suddenly that's game over. The scoreline makes it look like a mullering. The reaction from a lot of Leicester fans made it look like they'd won promotion playing the kind of football the Brazil would be proud of. It was a bad day at the office. Any other day it could have been us who scored that scrappy goal and taken it from there. That's football. We need to sort out this away form tbh, because I am beginning to get a foreboding feeling that only Forest can provide. I'm gonna maintain some perspective though. This season has been class. I would have been happy with staying up and ecstatic with the top half. The playoffs would've been unthinkable. I wouldn't be surprised to see us slip out of the playoffs now unless we can sort out our away form, which would be absoloutely gutting. But putting it into some relative context, we have to consider it a successful season, whatever happens from now. so your fans are perfect NOT why the hell are you sitting in the home end you numbskull the home end is for home fans so don't start moaning about fans singing about your old manager because every club does it its not right but every club has fans who sing sick songs

Guest Mee-9 Posted 1 March 2010 Posted 1 March 2010 10356) Forest say their shoelaces were swapped for Strawberry Laces from Tesco.

Interesting - there was many of these types on our forum after Christmas following three games without a win. I think it goes to show, you may like different teams, but the make up of fans are very similar - some noobs, some good un's, some inbetween. Where do I sit in all this? Proberly a nooob!
Callabinho Posted 2 March 2010 Posted 2 March 2010 10. we were being too rough with them, they thought we had swapped the team with the tigers ! but never realised Waggy is a little powerhouse
Maybes Posted 2 March 2010 Posted 2 March 2010 Still on a monemental high after beating these Chelsea Dagger dancing ****wits. Winner.

Chrysalis Posted 3 March 2010 Posted 3 March 2010 interesting that a lot of neutrals liked the result. the reason I reckon is because forest fans must be the most arrogant in england. They think they massive because of a few good clough years and keep making an issue of they supposedbly dont care about us. now we won they have taken it very badly and trying to call it a fluke amongst other things, anything but admitting we played better than them. I see now they have resorted to buying their way out of the league, I suspect billy without that budget they had would be nowhere near the top 6.

They came on Saturday expecting to win... every single one of them. I suspect even the team thought it was gonna be a walkover. Was amazingly satisfying watching them all walking out early with their tails between their legs... tossers! Their fans singing "longball Leicester" at us like theyre fecking Barcelona ffs.... laughable.
Ozwin Posted 3 March 2010 Posted 3 March 2010 They were hardly the pinacle of footballing greatness themselves, they hoofed it just as much as us.

Sods Posted 3 March 2010 Posted 3 March 2010 Why do the forest fans think that staying up would be good, or play offs unthinkable for them. They are one of the biggest spenders in this division. Twats
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 3 March 2010 Posted 3 March 2010 Forest remind me of this woman.... Pipe down.
