guys I am laughing at you comparing him to howard.

in this division he would have an easy time the problem is tho he wants us to get promoted and he is getting less effective in the premiership.

O'Neill is being critical just to get a response out of him. Heskey is a much maligned player. True he doesn't score goals often enough, but he does have plenty of assists for England, etc. Holds the ball up well to relieve pressure on the defence after they clear it. Useful for defending corners. Still has a turn of speed. Keeps centre backs busy to benefit of other players such as Owen in past & now Rooney, who benefit from his flick ons and knock downs. If he is good enough for Capello, then he should be good enough for Leicester!

I really do not know how anyone can say that Heskey is not good enough for us. Why do people asses strikers on there scoring ability all the time! A striker plays many different roles in the side and not all strikers have to score goals. Emile is an old fashioned CF he plays just behind the main striker to give that striker flick-ons and then attack the box with pace after he has flicked the ball on. Heskey nearly scored for Villa in the game VS Man u- His header came off the cross-bar if i remember right? or was it deflected for a corner?

Howard = cant jump, flicks the ball on to nowhere and losses the ball far too often hence his removal from the team.

Heskey= Can Jump, Flicks the ball on intelligently, often to a players feat and holds the ball up well waiting for players to get up field and support him.

Heskey would slot into our current system beautifully, he would take Waghorns role and hold the ball up or flick it on appropriately and when Fryatt is fit we can play Waghorn on the left, Fryatt on the right and Heskeys distribution would give us some real attacking flair.

In fact Heskey plays this role for Villa on many occasions, with Carew on the right and Agbonlahor on the left, works a charm for Villa.

Anyway the bloke is better than we are the moment were living in a dream land at the minute guys.

I have to agree with okie fox, imo this is Martin up to his motivational psycho tricks to cause a reaction from Emile.

Emile is a much loved fella at City, not only for the great player he was when he was with us, but also for helping to rescue City financially when the football club was in the depths of despair, he's a hero.

I would hate it if he came back & didn't live up to expectations, but if there is any truth in this story, then Nigel will know if Emile can make a successful return.

EH great player & a real genuine geezer!

Heskey and Collymore, arguably one of the best strike partnerships Leicester City has ever seen in its entire history.

I always felt Emile never really got the respect he deserved from football fans, and is an underrated player in that respect because he doesn't go for the glory. I also felt Liverpool ruined him, changing the way he played for us into a player who would hold the ball up for Owen.

Either way, the article in the Mercury is nothing to even think of as it's very unlikely we'll see him back here.

I really don't know how people can discuss this as if it's a possibility.

This thread is absolutely laughable, the idea that Heskey would come here right now, and the idea that he's not good enough lol! Seriously, have a word. Tbh, at Champo level I think he'd do more than just create goals - I'd wager him to score 15 a season in our side in it's current form.

:dunno:

Never said it was a possibility just get wound up with the attitude of "Oh he has only scored x amount of goals (where x = a small number) therefore he is a bad striker, just wanted to make it clear that Heskey is still one of the best English players around and just because he doesnt score does not mean he isn't a useful player.

I did also say and i quote "We are living in a dream land at the minute"

It wasn't aimed at you specifically, I just quoted you because I wanted to slightly edit your first sentence. It was more aimed at anyone who's made a post that implies that we have any chance of getting him here.
