Mark Posted 13 March 2010 Author Posted 13 March 2010 Any idea why the quotes seem to be a bit fooked on certain threads? Such as this? All I get is the code for what the quote should be, no box or buttons or anything. It doesn't happen on most threads, just some... Most of the posts that old should have been fixed, there is the odd thread that isn't - not sure why though. A minor irritant of the new layout is that when you want to switch from one forum to another (e.g. General Sport to General Chat etc) you now have to click on the forum AND press go, whereas before it would take you to the correct forum in an instant. I preferred the old way, it saved a few seconds. Agreed, back to the way it was now..
Mark Posted 13 March 2010 Author Posted 13 March 2010 Apoligies for the downtime throughout the night - speed should be fine now.

The Doctor Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 how come today i can't give any negative vote things on the reputations?
maddog Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 That's strange. Does that happen in every topic?? They are not working in IE yet, trying to figure out why. I've got IE 8 and they have been working fine
davieG Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 how come today i can't give any negative vote things on the reputations? Because we thought you weren't grown up enough.
MC Prussian Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 I've got IE 8 and they have been working fine Yeah, but in return there's something wrong with the maddog. Suddenly, he can spell.
FoxyPV Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 I gave a + for reputation out by accident can this be rectified?
MC Prussian Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 Don't want to be nitpicky, but somehow, the post count on my profile page differs from the one that appears in the forum(s). Ahem.
Edmund Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 I'm not sure if you've changed anything Mark but hats off to yourself, the forum is running a lot smoother for me now and doesn't hang on each page. Although, I still get hanging on people who use gif's in their sigs. I'm sure this a flaw with safari rather than the forum as I've experienced this on other forums. I'd be interested to see if anyone else who uses a mac and safari suffer from the same problems. I've turned sigs off now anyway to combat this as it was bad enough with stez's morrissey thing but davie g's has put the final nail in the coffin.
StanSP Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 I have the same problem with gif's in sigs but luckily I'm patient enough to long it out .

StanSP Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 Are you using safari on a mac? Nah Chrome on Windows, but on a very old PC!
Guest DavidJCW Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 Videos in peoples signatures... bad mix. Makes scrolling down the page VERY slow as it's trying to load the video... should be banned!

Flynny Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 To be honest this new style is making me visit the site far far less. Not as tidy or uncluttered, slower, and harder to look at. As this rate I'll lose my feelings of superiority over Talking Balls. Can't find this 'classic' skin unless 'Foxestalk 3.0' is supposed to be it?

I liked the old simple efficient FoxesTalk. Some of the updates are quite good, but on the whole I much prefer the old one

Also, the site should be faster today.

Also, the site should be faster today. Loading times are top-notch today. Thanks for that. I'd also say that the "Blue" version is easier on the eye - the "radical" new one comes across as being a bit too colourful and blinding, I guess.
StanSP Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 Agree about the loading times. Definitely improved. Even before that though, top job to Mark (and those who helped out (if there were any))
Matt Posted 17 March 2010 Posted 17 March 2010 The tab next to "Signed in as...." is down when I sign in. The arrow tab bit, that pop down and says; My Profile My Settings Messenger Manage Friends Manage Ignored Users When I click the arrow to try and get rid it takes me to me profile, was just wondering why it is was down and why I can't get rid. (I've signed out and signed back in, but when I sign back in the tab is still down) EDIT; And as soon as I press post it appears to have gone.
