Jack Hobbs was immense today. He just seemed to be everywhere and won countless headers and tackles.

Weale 7

Morrison 7

Hobbs 9 - MOTM, absolute beast.

Bruce 8 - Thought he looked fantastic from what we saw, very Tunchev'esk in the way he looks for the pass rather than the hoof.

Berner 8 - When he about put that player into the stands with a shoulder barge - I came.

Oakley 7

A King 7

Wellens 8 - Fantastic, one of his best games this season.

Gallagher 7 - Oh how I wish that shot had gone in. Would have been a screamer.

Waghorn 8 - Scored a right poachers effort, hard worker as always. Sign him up.

Dyer 8 - Frick'n awesome, tracked back, got stuck in and just showed us he is a great asset. I just wish he'd run at players more because he has the ability.

Subs:

Solano 7

Howard 7

Vaughan 7.5 - Blatant penalty at the end, got in some good positions and was unlucky not to score.

Weale - 7 nothing really to do today

Morrison - 8

Hobbs - 10 MOTM by far. Dug us out of trouble time and time again.

Bruce - 7 would be an 8 but he just wasn't on for long enough - looked good while he plaed though

Bruno - 8

Oakley - 8 improved a lot since the shift to 4-3-3/4-5-1

Wellens - 8 started off poor but really improved

King - 8

Dyer - 7 didn't seem that intrested first 1/2 hour but improved there on in

Gallagher - 7

Waghorn - 8

Subs:

Solano - 7

Howard - 7 won his headers and held the ball up well

Vaughan - 7 Looked good in the air, very pacey, should have won a penalty.

Weale 8 - outstanding save towards the end that the ref gave a goal kick for. lol

Morrison 7

Hobbs 9 Immense, benefitted from no bombscare partner?

Bruce 8 impressed me, better use of the ball than Brown but his substitution benefitted us as Solano gives us much more of a attacking threat than Morrison at right back.

Berner 8

Oakley 6 he tries his best but it looks like his career at this level is coming to an end

A King 7

Wellens 8.5 best game in a leicester shirt, passing much improved.

Gallagher 7

Waghorn 8

Dyer 8

Solano 7.5

Great team performance today.

Weale 7.5 Solid, especially on all the balls Cardiff hoisted into the box second half.

Morrison 7.5 Started decently, and slotted in easily alongside Hobbs after Bruce went off.

Bruce 7.5 Started very well, a terrible shame he got injured because he was really looking the part til then. Read the game well, decent on the ball too. Definitely want to see more based on this short performance.

Hobbs 10 MotM. Superb in the air, and made Bothroyd look like a complete spanner. Great to see him get the armband when Oakley came off. As for that sliding tackle in the box on Bothroyd in the first half

Berner 8.5 As reliable as he always is, plus a few extra marks for the cross that lead to the goal, and for dumping Burke on his arse in the second half. Heroic. :giggle:

Gallagher 8 Really settling into the team now, linking up well with Solano and Morrison. Good performance, and that swerving shot that went just wide was a superb hit.

King 7.5 Worked hard in midfield, won the ball and kept possesion, plus some nice lofted passes as well. Him and Wellens are looking a good combination in the middle.

Wellens 8.5 Won loads of tackles, very busy in midfield. Good performance.

Oakley 7.5 Good performance for Grandpa Oakley today, showed some very nice vision in the frirst half. Well played.

Dyer 8.5 Here there and everywhere, shame he couldn't get a goal to cap off his performance.

Waghorn 8.5 Took his goal well, and put in loads of effort. I'll be gutted if we don't sign him in the summer.

Subs

Solano 7.5 Defended very well today, and linked well with Gallagher. A few missplaced passes, but otherwise good stuff.

Vaughan 7 Looked useful in his short cameo, deserved to get a penalty when he was being molested in the box, and denied a late goal by a superb block on the line from Gallagher's ball across the box.

Howard 7 One of his more effective sub appearances, won everything in the air against the Cardiff defenders.

Weale 7 (Did what was required with minimal fuss)

Morrison 7 (Not his best but as committed as ever)

Hobbs 9 (Class act, one man defence at times, destined for the Premier League with or without Leicester)

Bruce 7 (Looked easily competent enough before going off)

Berner 7 (Typical solid display)

Oakley 6.5 (Some really good moments and some equally poor, good work-rate)

King 6 (Wasn't impressed at times, not great in possession and seemed to afford the opposition too much time on the ball)

Wellens 8.5 (Tenacious in the tackle and as equally composed in possession, was up for the battle)

Gallagher 7 (Decent outlet at times, good quality set-pieces)

Dyer 7 (Did reasonably well, rarely lost possession, would really like to see him more confident though)

Waghorn 7 (Well-taken goal and 100% effort as always, but never really got into the game)

Solano 7 (Decent for the most part, a few iffy passes but also a few great ones)

Vaughan 5 (Started brightly but became far too lazy)

Weale 7 (Covered his near post soundly, held the ball well, made good decisions.Just a normal day really)

Morrison 7 (Played his part in two positions to deliver a well merited clean sheet)

Hobbs 8 (Immense)

Bruce 7 (Disappointed to see him go off. His willingness to use the ball once it was won was a rare pleasure to see. I'll be interested to see how he shapes up)

Berner 7.25 (Always seems to help the back line's solidarity and reliability).

Oakley 6 (Never at his best)

King 7.5 (Remained calm and alert enough to make the goal for Waghorn and rarely put a foot wrong between the two boxes. Constantly offered the out ball - especially to Solano and Wellens - as our midfield largely ran the show while still constributing to the visitors getting the sparcest of chances).

Wellens 8.5 (Cracking game. Lots of attitude and signs of returning confidence and consistency. Caught in possession once but otherwise too big a problem for Cardiff to contain)

Gallagher 7 (Mostly quite imaginative and accurate on the ball but he really needs to mean it in the tackle).

Dyer 8.5 (Absolutely outstanding for his intelligent running and workrate. Our once 60-minute footballer was doing defensive duties right up to the end and still finding the energy to make selfless runs on both sides of the field. Played as a team-man in possession too).

Waghorn 7 (Goals win matches and he took his big chance which is what we've been missing from so many others. Tends to fade when he scores but he'll improve)

Solano 7.25 (Excellent. Gave us just what we needed when we needed it. Read the game well, made timely interceptions and then released the ball constructively. Yes he made the odd mistake but every pass was constructively conceived and mostly short and to feet leaving Cardiff working hard to regain possession instead of having the ball donated to them. Flighted the odd ball towards an intended target - too gently for my liking but generally his thoughtfulness and simplicity set exactly the right example).

Vaughan 5 (Didn't look fit and didn't impress although I thought we should have had a penalty for what looked to me a blatant foulbut then the referee, with so little dto do, managed to look a wally at times and it's a wonder that throw-in has been taklen even now!!!)

Howard 6 (Won every knock-on, absorbed a bit of time, but that was about it)

Weale-8- Top save from whittingham shot and always looks assured

Morrison-7- Looked in control

Hobbs-10- Benitez is a idiot for letting this guy go , always looks assured had bothroyd in his pocket all game- oozes confidence , if we go up shud be captain in my opinion

Bruce-7- looked ok!!

Berner 8- always a rock , never looks troubled

Dyer-8- worked his arse off

Oakley-7- did ok , looked off the pace , would be no near the team in premiership

Wellens-7- looked ok!! gave the ball away sometimes

Gallagher- 8- touch and technique is premiership standard , and our best free kick taker since izzet/savage

Waghorn-8-runs his socks off ,sometimes gives the ball away but sign him up mandy!!

Subs

Nobby-7-did well at right back , wudnt last in the premiership though

Vaughan- 7- touch looked good , shud have had a penalty !!

Howard-6- won some headers

Gotta beat Cov scum next week!! and we wud be half way there for play offs ,

Vaughn holding his hamstring only 5 minutes after he came on the pitch. Not a good sign ......
