Monk Posted 30 March 2010 Posted 30 March 2010 Interesting debate last night, and pretty disappointed at how badly Osborne came off. The guy not only looked out of depth but really lacked a positive outlook - he was more interested in putting down Labour than promoting his own policies. Vince won that by a country mile, and although I have never voted lib dem, it did make me look them up and read their policies. Possibly worth a shout. The Torys are either saving all of their good policies until the election is called or they really have no substance at all.

Osbourne said that his experience basically came from watching someone else doing the job. Quality - that will inspire confidence in everyone
Webbo Posted 30 March 2010 Posted 30 March 2010 I wonder when we were in the middle of the boom and Labour were still spending more than we earned if the Liberals actually voted against any of the increases in expenditure?
Fosse Boy Posted 30 March 2010 Posted 30 March 2010 Don't see there being many alternatives to the usual suspects in Harborough. Considering a spoiled ballot but think I'll end up being a Liberal willy-wally like I was in the Euros...
l444ry Posted 30 March 2010 Posted 30 March 2010 Vince is Shagger Clegg's wise old grandad, made more convincing by the white wisps on the bald bonce - the reassuring face of the nasty, dishonest, hypocritical, Liberal Democratic Party whose candidates are Tory when they want Tory votes, Labour when they want Labour votes and Monster Raving Loony when they want protest votes. Even Vince's groupies will have to get real eventually and elect a government. General elections are not the X Factor. These bastards can put your taxes up, close your hospital, lock you up and send your children into battle. Nice has nothing to do with it. Honest and competent is what's needed. Vince-politics are not Real Politics. Give Vince the occasional invitation to Desert Island Discs, maybe, or a bit of dancing on the telly, and he'll turn up and entertain the crowd. Good old Vince! The People's Vince says again and again that he warned on the banking crisis! It is now an established truth that Vince was a seer. But he never ever gets challenged on this. It's about time the Lib Dems and Vince Cable were stopped being given a free ride.
C-man Posted 30 March 2010 Posted 30 March 2010 Probably edging towards Labour. They've made some mistakes, but I don't think a change of government is what the country needs at the moment. Infact, as much as we can criticise Labour for some of their frankly awful Cabinet antics that have stretched public relations, I don't think the way that they've handled the economy has been too bad. Would hate to think what a mess we'd be in at the moment if the Tories had their way.
BoneDog Posted 30 March 2010 Posted 30 March 2010 Really? HUH? No not really! I was being sarcastic (if that's the right word). I'm with George Carlin on this one. Although I will take a look at the manifestos and see if anything catches my eye, but I highly doubt it, I don't trust any of them. History tends to prove that they are all a bunch of liars (with some good MP's in the parties obviously, but overall the higher-ups in the party say one thing and do another). And I'm a little too young to remember the Tories but what Daggers says about those days seem to be true. I've read a few books about those days and seen some documentaries about very dodgy dealings! I really don't understand how anyone still trusts any of them.
The Blur Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 Got to be Lib Dems for me Tough choice but I don't trust Tories and their cuts as well Labour and their mis-management, however I'm really concerned about the prospect of the hung election so I may have to vote for Labour again but it is a bleeding shame that the prospect of the hung election through the poor decisions is bad enough to sway my vote when my vote should be earned for the parties's policies
lou Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 Good call. I didnt think anyone else would be old enough or knowledgeable enough to know what I was talking about! If its good enough for Richard its good enough for me Who then? Nobody? Thats the spirit!!! It was a joke in reference to the above movie
Zingari Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 I'll still probably vote for Labour , even though I believe that democracy is a complete and utter myth . We are probably ruled by shadowy group of financiers and Military Inustrial Complex anyway, but I still live in hope that I am wrong
Samilktray Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 Can I vote Green Party in these elections? If so they have my vote.
Darkzzz_ Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 I am swaying towards Lib Dems but I will probably end up not voting as I am annoyed with the politics of this country.
Sir Fynwy Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8593158.stm 20 years on, a reminder of the cost of voting tory.
stez Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 Can I vote Green Party in these elections? If so they have my vote. if you have a green party candidate standing in your area, then yes.
Webbo Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8593158.stm 20 years on, a reminder of the cost of voting tory. How good of the BBC to remind us of that in the run up to an election. Just as they point out every possible flaw in Tory policy in theory and yet make no comment on the proven failure of Labour policy.

Webbo Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 yeah, evil media types, at least murdoch has seen the light ey I wouldn't mind if they didn't pretend to be impartial. They're so blatantly biased I don't know how they have the nerve to deny it.
Ginola Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 I'm sick of seeing my beautiful land treated like an open invitation for people of all nationalities to wipe their arses on our great green land. All the jobs are being taken away from our beautiful race. When will people wake up and realise that BNP will sort this country out. Before anyone accuses me of being racist I'm not, I've got black, jamaican, asian, chinese friends. you name it, I've got it. I'm just tired of foreigners taking the best houses, clogging up the nhs and littering the great cities. Rant over.

Ginola Posted 31 March 2010 Posted 31 March 2010 Typical reaction of a Labour supporter. No intellect, no words just ridicule.
