The General Election - Who Are You Voting For?

He may have written this theory but there is no such thing as objectivity so his liberalist attitude does in fact influence his work!

These were all consumer goods which to be perfectly honest are frivolous and the focus was on heavy industry to industrialise the nation.

Five Year plans turned USSR from a shithole country into a superpower and won WWII  I'd say they were pretty successful.

This is a political discussion on a football forum not an academic piece so if i wanted to say that pink elephants eating trampolines was the best way to run the country i don't have to provide evidence for it i can just say it.

You're effectively saying Mises took a position first and then wrote a theory based on this, which is a gross distortion. He didn't. He first studied conflicting economic theories and then came up with his position.

At the end of the 1980s, Russia was suffering food shortages, in the same way North Korea is today. If you consider this frivolous, then fair enough.

Some of the five year plans could be considered successful, but if you compare this to development and allocation of resources in the capitalist economies, then they were not as successful.

This is a political discussion on a football forum, you're right, but you have made statements in support of communism, so I will challenge them. I'm not a fan of communism and don't like the current nostalgia that seems to growing in the world for it as we forget what a useless political system it is.

After reading all of this thread - I'm none the wiser what I'm going to do voting wise. Can't someone make the decision for me?!?

Haven't you got a 16/17 year old sister or brother you can turn to for advice?

Surely if you read the Daily Mail we are living in exactly this - hoodies, teen mothers, immigrants etc!

Immigration is one of the few things that is keeping the economy semi buoyant as they are willing do the jobs that the current popualtion aren't. You could live in a completely homogenous society which would be fvcking great craic - no tasty, flavoursome food (indian etc), no different influences on music etc.

Why don't we all dress up in beige and have exactly the same look and taste as everyone else?!

How fvcking boring!

If you cut all the costly benefits then people would be forced to fukin work rather than sit on their fat arse with a beer watching dave all day collecting JSA.

Incidentally I hate Indian food and rap/r&b 'music' can floss its teeth with the sweaty hairs on my arse.

It would make my day if acooling08 ended one of his posts with "I hate this country so much, I'm thinking of moving to Australia".

The BNP has confirmed it has sacked its head of publicity after he was arrested on suspicion of threatening to kill the leader Nick Griffin.

it s good to see how multicultural these parties are, all of the leaders are surrounded by a token black, indo asian and oriental. Gordon Brown walkin in st pancreas with his team was the funniest, he had a black women on one side and black bloke on the other and a indo asian behind him, and boy did it look all orchastrated, the black women just smiled like she was high on drugs, while gordon was talking to a very unconfortable black man, who obviously wasn't getting th joke gordon was telling him.........how pathetic!!!laugh.gif

In which case I'm looking forward to the BNP's opening statements.
