QPR post match

The Tigers' confident victory was in marked contrast to their previous four matches, all of which ended in defeat

This is just what we needed! :D

A great 4-0 win should give the boys enough confidence to keep on doing well now.

I have to admit I was slightly worried about today's match seeing as we could of been knocked out of the playoff places. The team have worked hard this season to get where they are and I think they deserve to finish in the playoffs.

Posh have been relegated now so seeing as they haven't got anything to play for should make it easier for us on Saturday.

An amazing 3points earned today!!! :scarf:

It was comfortable in the end, a much needed result that should do wonders for the confidence levels.

The first half was one of the most underserved 2-0 scorelines I've seen before, but after some of the luck that we've had of late I don't think anybody cared too much. Waghorn took his first goal perfectly given that it was a decent range out with his weaker foot.

It was always going to be important to get another to put the game beyond doubt, and thanks to some brilliance from that man again we got it. Great work from Wellens to win the ball on the edge of our area first of all, followed by a superb finish from Waghorn. Deserved his standing ovation at the end of the game, brilliant striker's performance. Very unlucky with the free-kick and then the save pulled off by their 'keeper soon after.

QPR were pretty much restriced to pot-shots from outside the area for the majority of the second half, although they had two good chances at 3-0 down to give themselves a glimmer of hope. Thankfully for us they were distinctly lacking in the final third today.

It was nice to see Howard get on the scoresheet for the fourth, a casually taken header to put the game beyond doubt.

All in all three vital points given results elsewhere, we just need to take this to Peterborough on Saturday in another massive game. It's going to be tight all the way from now, it doesn't seem as though anybody around us is prepared to slip up too easily.

Makes it harder for us IMO.

I might get berated a little for my opinion but i'll say it none the less.

Today was a professional performance. There was a 20 minute spell in the second half where we really were completly dominant and for once, rutheless. Waghorn creating a goal from a half chance, if that. Superb goal!

GOing in at half time 2 - 0 up flattered us somewhat. ALthough no clear chances form QPR, we rode our luck and restricted them to distant pot shots while we rarely threatened.

Overall, we thouroughly deserved the win however i think QPR will go away wondering what happened.

Just got back home from the match and some thoughts...

1) We were very lucky in the first half, though they didn't create any golden chances, a bit less greed from Taraabt (?) and they could've scored a few. By contrast, we had 2 shots and 2 goals. We were really quite good in the second half though.

2) That was the narrowest 4-4-2 I've ever seen us, and anyone else, play. We had Gallagher and Spearing playing on the wings, both often found themselves drifting back to the middle. I think we need to be careful against a team with quality out wide.

3) Our defending for the most part was excellent. Some really good tackles and blocks today.

4) Their support was AWFUL. Sitting in J3, I heard them twice. I thought our 'you might as well fack off' chant was great, but I thought L sounded oddly quiet at times... I dunno if it was just because there was absolutely no banter with the QPR lot?

What a load of shit, that's it we've blown it now there is no way we're gonna be in the playoffs, Pearson has really fuc...... oh hang on we won, that's the wrong type of over reaction.

Woooo we're back on track there is no stopping us now, when's the play off final? I'm going to book my train tickets and hotel tonight woooo.

**End Sarcasm**

Just got back. The first half was dreadful, not just the game but the atmosphere too. You could feel the whole ground lift when the third went. Wellens was the best I've seen him play today. Brown steadied the ship and Hobbs was his usual superb self.

Wasn't it winning against QPR that started our surge into the play offs in the first place?

Hopefully this win gives us the momentum to stay there.

First 5 minutes today were great then QPR piled the pressure on us, bad mistake from their keeper letting Waggy in for the second, and took it very well indeed. Think we needed to close them down alot more than we did, but well played to the defence for a solid job. Second half was fantastic. Some great goals, especially Waggys second, was brilliant. Really pleased with the result today and i think all the players on the pitch can certainly feel they did an excellent job. Was a joy to watch today, especially the second half.

Great win today, just what we needed. Awesome goal by Waghorn. I seriously thought it was going over.

With the Posh being relegated, will make it harder for us. Lets just hope we keep this momentum at P'borough.

Just got back, my thoughts are:

Nervous first half, much better after the second went in. When it got to 3-0 I thought Vaughan and/or N'guessan and/or Kermogant should have been given a good run out. 3-0 we were in no danger and we could do with these 3 gettin some time and goals under their belts going in to the final run in, they could be important players. I think pearson left the subs too late. I think it may have been different if they used the width a bit more. However, a crucial 3 points, spearing got a good run out and played decent and also a bit of optimism and confidence back in the camp.

Oh and QPR are easily the worst fans i've seen at the Walkers. Was someone else on the drum 2day, it didn't sound as loud as usual. It was quite funny walkin back towards the Saff and seeing a Leicester lad grab this wannabe hard nut's QPR flag and throw it into the middle of the road. Top quality, he was bout crying L0lzz.

Anyway great day, one less game, good performance. Comon youu Bluess !! :scarf:

Was he the tool walking whilst holding the flag up behind him as a cape? I really wanted to grab it too lol

He was practically crying when i walked past him, something to do with not being allowed to smoke inside the ground lol

Does that mean you're all going to stop panicking?

forgive me if i'm wrong but were only in the playoffs by one point. Its in our hands but you simply cannot sit comfortably expecting everything to be OK. Football doesnt work like that anbd anyone that thinks like that is imply naive.

Yep Jobber wasn't there today, think they announced it over the PA before the game kicked off.
