Webbo Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Good for Holloway. Unfairly blamed for our relegation, nice to see him have a bit of success. We should get DJ off the books too.
ousefox Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Fair play Blackpool. Didn't realise they passed the ball so well. They'll still get thrashed every week next year and hopefully we can get a decent fee for DJ
samjohnson Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Stunning game... I reckon both teams will be gone from the Championship for next season If there's any luck, Cardiff will get wound up
Scaramanga! Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Seeing Chopra in tears makes it all better. Well done Blackpool!
purpleronnie Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Maybe all the muppets who constantly call Holloway will shut the fook up now. Well done Holloway, well done blackpool amazing achievement. Top team, top manager. But blackpool will be relegated next season.
VinceNoir Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Well done Blackpool! I wonder what the future holds for Cardiff now? (I don't really know how their debt situation has developed, but 90 million would've helped!)
BlueSi13 Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Surely Cardiff will have to firesale most of that squad now, their future might just be a little bleak after this result....best team definitely won on the day
Finchy Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Good for Holloway. Unfairly blamed for our relegation, nice to see him have a bit of success. Definitely, he gave everything for our club he was devastated on the last day, he just wasn't good enough for us, simple as.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Where do people get this £90m from? I'm sure I read somewhere a couple of years back when it was claimed to be £60m that someone from one of the promoted teams said it was nowhere near that...
Corky Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Blackpool deserved it, they were the better side. Cardiff obviously were affected by losing Bothroyd, I don't like him but he's a very talented player, bringing on Etuhu instead of McCormack though?
shen Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 So Burnley did the impossible last year, now Blackpool have just gone on and replicated it! Amazing achievement!
Joe. Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 So Burnley did the impossible last year, now Blackpool have just gone on and replicated it! Amazing achievement! Not forgetting Hull the year before. Three sides to come from the depths of the Football League to take on the play-offs and get to the top, massive achievement.

It takes into account the added TV, merchandise and ticket revenue as well as the advanced parachute money for the next 4 seasons if they are relegated straight away. But you're right in that they don't take into account the added expenses of promoted clubs.

Top team, top manager. But blackpool will be relegated next season. He obviously thrives with smaller clubs, fair play to him for getting Blackpool promoted but at the end of the day, he was ultimately responsible for us getting relegated, regardless of whether he gave it his all for the club. Fair play to Blackpool and Holloway but everytime I see him it still haunts me about that day we got relegated.
Tommeh Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Say what you like about Ollie's stint here but his record is immaculate, stunning achievement. Congratuations to he and Blackpool. And the record I thought he was unlucky and wouldn't have minded him taking us into league 1.
maddog Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Ollie and Dj in the PL. How has he contributed to taking us down, then took them up. It's unbelieveable.
Koke Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Holloway strives on smaller clubs with small expectations. He plays the underdog tag very well.
FoxyPV Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Surely Cardiff will have to firesale most of that squad now, their future might just be a little bleak after this result....best team definitely won on the day Peter Whittingham on the cheap?

Fair play to Blackpool and Holloway but he still haunts me about that day we got relegated. The team he inherited didnt help was it 3 wins in 15 before he came to leicester?. I dont think anyone could have saved us that season. Its not necessarily all the criticism of him I don't agree with but its the way people turned on him, when he came it was great, he was a good manager and a character, but soon as things didnt improve much he was all of a sudden a terrible manager and a clown? It was nonsense, you have to look at the bigger picture for that season. I have no doubt if he had stayed we would have walked League 1 just like we did under pearson. I'm just glad he's proved some people wrong, he is a top manager. But boy will it be a struggle for them next eason.
dandannieldanok Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Normally feel sorry for devastated players but in Chopra's case..........nah I don't think so. Well done to Blackpool. I reckon their season in the Premier League will almost be a carbon copy of Burnley's. Good start in their home fixtures, before teams get wise to them and they'll tail off and get relegated.
maddog Posted 22 May 2010 Posted 22 May 2010 Certainly looking forward to Ollies pre-match and post match press conferences in the PL. What will he say about Fergie, Wenger, Ancelotti etc It's going to look very strange to see him on the touchline next to them.

Most likely but even if they do the money should set the club up nicely and do the town a lot of good too.

The PL will like him at the beginning but will eventually think he's a tedious as ****, gradually starting to dislike his shitty analogies. Phil Brown was also an interesting character to the PL fans when Hull went up, but now everyone thinks he's a ****.
