Wayne Brown?

I can't believe some people are saying, "Brown must go." Chances are it's probably been sorted now anyway.

He's had a good season in my eyes, Maybe his distribution isn't the best, but he's a solid championship defender.

Whether or not he is a good player is irrelevant.

The reason he must go (and this is based on the allegations being true) is that his staying would do irreparable damage to team morale and cohesiveness. It would also damage the club's reputation across a wide range of groups, not least our fans, the wider football community and the people of Leicester.

Well said. It would seem the club endorse that type of thing if they keep him. It would break the team into different groups. I think Brown has bummed his chances here.

Having returned to the dressing room after training, a discussion was taking place between a group of players about the election results. Brown first told a stunned, racially mixed group of players that he had voted for the BNP, and was met with a volley of protest.

Rather than diffusing the situation, the Barkingborn player, where BNP leader Nick Griffin was wiped-out in the election by Margaret Hodge, and the party lost all its council seats, launched into an attack on "****ing ragheads and Asians" who he claimed were "killing this country."

If that's the full truth, it's inexcusable, he's not playing for us again.

He's going to struggle to play for any one again.

We are supposed to live in a democracy. His vote is his choice. He could equally have been offended by the choices of his other team mates. How dare they attempt to socially manipulate. If he had voted for the communist party i doubt they would have said anything. He has an absolute right to his opinions. The BNP are a legitimate party. No one has a right to tell another person how they can vote and they should not have the right to have him suspended. Freedom of thought and speech is all but dead in this country the bnp are being proved to be right.

Do the thought police not allow anyone to have an opinion nowadays? I always understood 1984 to be a work of fiction - not an instruction manual.

Good for him. Whatever happened to democracy? Did it ever exist, I am beginning to doubt it very much.

Perhaps those people who are offended by someone voting BNP, will be happy when our roads and transport systems are gridlocked, and every scrap of our country has been concreted over to house all who wish to live here.As I've said time and again, you can't get a quart into a pint pot.If a boat is only large enough for say 50 passengers, you know what will happen when it goes way above that figure-yes it sinks. Please bear that in mind next time you criticise a party that can think a few years ahead.

As repulsive as the BNP may be, you cannot suspend someone for voting for a legitimate political party during an election.

Surely his vote is a personal thing, you don't have to agree with his choice, but he as the right to vote for any legitimate party that he chooses to, extremist party's will always fail, but while ever they hold legal status, an individual is at liberty to vote for them, just shows the insecurity of his team mates that they reacted in the way they did, get over it, the BNP were thumped at the polls, take that as your consolation and concentrate on football

These are a snipet of the top rated comments - they all show a complete lack of understanding of what Brown's statement means to his teammates and how this then effects team spirit. (bar the last one which acknowlegdes the difficulty but basically says get on with it)

The communist reference made me laugh quite a bit as although the views may be extreme (majority view definitely not mine) but their views aren't racially motivated.

Really cuntish move by Brown. He comes across as someone who has got all symptoms of a person who's completely lost his faculties.

His days here are finished. You have to wonder what club would want to pick him up now.

If he called people ragheads, then he is sacked. If he just voted BNP Leicester would be paying his wages... good job he said it, I guess! :sweating:

The guy can vote who he likes, but, why would you say this in the open.

It just does not make sense. There must be more to this.

He has to go though. I can't see Powell, Dyer wanting to work with him.

As for Brown's future. I can't see him getting another club, perhaps Barking might be his best bet.

Jokes aside. Shame really, I thought we missed him in the playoffs.

The man has lost it. What did he think his outburst would achieve? Even if he believed what he believes, where the **** did his common sense go? I'm pretty convinced there are a fair number of footballers who share his views but they have kept quiet about it due to the profession they are in and the environment they work within. Brown looks like a **** who wouldn't look out of place at an EDL march, and now he made himself look like one.

His career is ****ed. What club are gonna pick him up in the summer and sign him up.

His career is fucked. What club are gonna pick him up in the summer and sign him up.

Exactly. He's fooked. His only option is to go abroad, which is ironic, as then he becomes the foreign scum stealing people's jobs!

Is he bollocks finished in football. Woodgate? Bowyer? Lee Hughes? Marlon King? Joey Barton? He's done fvck all compared to any of them.

I'm sure there are probably plenty of other footballers that have similar views but keep a lid on it. Someone will pick him up if he makes sure he keeps his mouth shut in future.

Smashing people up at nightclubs and McDonalds doesn't cause dressing room tension and division - airing extreme views does. Brown is a loose cannon and any sane manager who values team spirit and unity won't touch him with a ten foot pole.

People will know about his views and comments, and I doubt many clubs would want him. You think if he did this at Hull, then Pearson would have picked him up? Never.

If those were his comments, they are undefendable in any context. However, what is sad is that he will probably go on to find another club like schrenchel pointed out. I actually forgot that Woodgate and Bowyer were convicted of assaulting that asian student and it just goes to show if you keep your head down and keep your mouth shut, you can get away with it! Only in a profession such as football, could a man be convicted of a racist assault and then go on to be employed by one of the top companies in the world (Real Madrid).

Woodgate and Bowyer called that Asian lad a paki before them and their mates gave him a battering didn't they? Hasn't stopped them playing at the top level. Probably helps that there approximately zero british asians in the football league.
