Wayne Brown?

If even a fraction of what is being alleged is true then he has no place at this football club, and is unlikely that another club will take him on with all the bad publicity it would generate.

As he may not have committed a disciplinary offense that can legally lead to dismissal we may end up paying him off rather than sacking him which will be unfortunate but necessary.

Wow, I've been too down to come on here since Wednesday. Just assumed everyone would be on their hols now, nothing to talk about. First reaction for me is how proud I am of how the clubhave handled it. We'd have been a stronger team withBrown in ahead of Bruce, for me. But the clubhas done the right thing. The timing of it is so unprofessional, let alone the incident itself. Get rid. Please Tunch get fit, then with Morrison and a new signing we should have more than enough quality and cover in that area. What a shame, another reason to think, 'what if?'

do this was beyond stupid on WB part but is there proof he's actually done what it's claimed he has? The only two sources i've seen are the sun & the daily mail - not exactly credible sources since the sun is full of unbelievable sensationalist stories and the Mail is 60 pages of scary bullshit.

Edit: I'm not condoning what he supposedly did but surely it should be innocent till proven guilty?

If he's innocent, then no problem. I think people are just stating how they will respond. He obviously did something.

Something is obviously amiss otherwise why would the OS post this and not a denial:

Leicester City Football Club would like to issue the following statement regarding the recent enquiries concerning Leicester City player, Wayne Brown.

Wayne Brown remains a Leicester City player and any alleged incidents will be investigated and dealt with internally.

So presumably there's been an alleged incident involving WB.

I thought that, but there's been an official club statement aswell, so something's probably happened to warrant that :dunno:

Edit: Ahh, davieG beat me to it.

Strange that 2 rival papers made up exactly the same lie.

Good shout as a reserve, Morrison would be main cover assuming we get a new RB, surely that would do.

I'd be surprised if Morro wasn't the main RB for the forthcoming season to be honest. I know he's stated that he's a CB but the rate at which he's come on at RB is impressive and he's rarely let us down this season. Plus it allows us a bit of flexibility in terms of cover if we have Nobby as well

Good to see that unsubstanciated, out of context rumours aren't causing the world and his wife to leap to making knee-jerk cretinous statements.

From Bentley's posted by an ex Radio Leicester now Talksport contributor.

...I've had this info passed on from a very good source.

"Lads were discussing the election and who they'd vote for if any of them could be arsed.

Brown, who generally says something for effect, announces he'd vote BNP and kick all the immigrants and asylum seekers home.

He then says 'only joking' but [name removed but non-white player] takes offence and accuses him of being a racist....

"Anyway there's a bit of a row and a few of the lads accuse [name removed but non-white player] of being a bit precious and to grow up.

"After training it turns out that [name removed but non-white player] has told every black lad in the club that brown is a racist and has also been to see the gaffer.

"Pearson calls him in and they have a row cos Brown doesn't feel he's getting a fair hearing...

"Lads all feel he's been stitched up and that [name removed but non-white player] has told everyone, press included, about the race thing when they all feel it was just a bit of banter .....that there was never mention of being black or white....

"Lads think the manager will use it as an excuse to push brown out of the club as he's no longer first choice."

I don't know the truth as I wasn't there but I have no reason to doubt this source.

Make of it what you will.

Just to add some balance to a rumour that's not been proved one way or the other. Of course there was an 'incident' but all or any of what's be posted could be bollocks so people shouldn't comment on it as if it's been proved.

Very interesting. You can see how a misplaced comment can be taken a certain way, weather Brown ment it or not. In my experience people who normaly say "only joking" after a comment do mean what they say and are trying to taking it back as they are thinking out aloud.

I also think the other player involved took it a little too far, by telling other players. He should of just gone to Pearson if it was such a big issue. Sounds like playground banter gone too far.

However, it looks like the end of the road to me for Wayne Brown. There is no place for dumbass comments like that in 2010 weather it was a joke or not. End off.

If the 'non-white' player was Vaughan is that the reason he was not involved in the playoff games?

I know the story was put out that he was injured but the same story was put out about Brown until the lid blew off.

Given our shortage of strike options I am surprised that he did not feature at all, even if he was carrying a knock...:dunno:

Posted

Not sure what to make of it. I don't think you should joke like that cos it is quite a sensitive topic and even if Brown was joking about it it weren't very funny!

Have a feeling the 'non-white player' could have been Dyer of Vaughan.

Posted

Even if it was a joke (which I doubt) it has unsettled the dressing room. It's not up to him to decide if it's racist it's up to the person who is offended by it.

Posted

Well if DavieG's post is correct then I feel quite sorry for WB myself, and it looks like Vaughan has a lot to answer for

Who said it was Vaughan?

Posted

no right that hasn't been stated, I mean't t say "unknown white players name removed"

all I'm saying is if DavieG's story is the facts and Wayne Brown has lost his job over it I think its a poor show myself seems like someone has kicked off and over reacted big stylee :dunno:

Unnamed player sounds like he's been a goon as well. Pretty harsh on Brown if true.

FREE WAYNE!

Also, if this is right then surely all these allegations that he definitely went mad and called all so and so people whatevers is no less libelous than talking about what Levi does in his spare time?

I guess the difference is that most of that was a repeat of what had been posted in the Mail and even as a result of the OS announcement that there was to be an investigation, however some people seem to take anything that's posted as a 'truth' rather than an opinion or a repeated unsubstantiated story which is why I chose to put this version up, where as there's nothing in the public domain that suggests Levi is guilty of anything other than not being good enough.

Approaching this from a neutral point, I think Wayne Brown probably did get stitched. I find it hard to believe that he'd erupt and act like such a ****. He probably made a shitty joke, and someone thought it was an excuse to get Brown dropped.

There's probably a few morons in the squad, in seemms.

I'd hardly call that a neutral position.dunno.gif

The non-white player seems a bit of a tit. Telling every non-white member of the squad about WB and getting them to go against him, then running crying to Pearson :dunno:

He sounds like a tit in this one version of the story. What's the likelihood of another version coming out from another random source saying Wayne Brown whacked on a white hood, set fire to a cross and chased Dyer and Vaughan to the nearest tree with a length of rope? It's all hearsay at the moment.
