lovelcfc Posted 31 May 2010 Posted 31 May 2010 beckford gone to everton so that might mean we will get vaugan if hes not goin get a starting place
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 31 May 2010 Posted 31 May 2010 If we can, then let us sign him permanently. However the fee should be related to the number of appearances he would make for us. We need to cover ourselves, if he is injury prone, or even loses form.
Nick Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 we will sign him on loan again "Sign him on loan we will....." *now we have had sourceless comments from Obe-one and Yoda, Nick feels the force is strong*
Tuna Posted 5 June 2010 Posted 5 June 2010 I'd be excited by the signing of a talented young English player with bags of potential, but when you look at his injury record, I do not think you can take the risk - especially given the record we have had with expensive crocks - Eadie, Jones, Clemence - another loan deal would be good if we can get him.
teblin Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 DAILY EXPRESS Everton striker James Vaughan is wanted on loan by new Celtic boss Neil Lennon.
Houdini Logic Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 DAILY EXPRESS Not a suprise really. My friend was talking to Lennon a couple of weeks ago on a night out in Leicester - apparently Lennon kept joking that he was going to try and sign Waghorn
Bettsj2 Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 No shock that we wont get Vaughan back. I just hope that we get a striker in as a first choice priority this year rather than just always thinking about the squad.
foxoffderby Posted 15 June 2010 Posted 15 June 2010 Vaughan is also being touted by Derby County. He is on the back page of todays Derby Telegraph and is on their shortlist alongside Simon Cox and Billy Sharp
hackneyfox Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 Just because Celtic & Derby are in the hunt doesn't mean we won't get him. If NFP impressed him and Brown hasn't pissed him off he may chose us.
MPH Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 He would be a bit silly to turn down the chance of going to Celtic.....
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 He would be a bit silly to turn down the chance of going to Celtic..... Why? If he is only on loan what is he going to learn in the Scottish League? 3 games in Europe and out will not help him. The standard is higher in the championship than the SPL and as a young striker he would learn a hell of a lot more in this league be it wit us, Derby or who ever.
hackneyfox Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 He would be a bit silly to turn down the chance of going to Celtic..... Why? Because of the money? He'd probably be playing against teams or equal staure here in The Championship. With the exception of European games and those against Rangers, the rest are very poor. And NFP seems to impress, whereas Lenny is very unknown. Nobody improves their CV by playing or managing in Scotland.

hackneyfox Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 With which bit? And can we infer anything from your name?
The Doctor Posted 16 June 2010 Posted 16 June 2010 With which bit? i'd say the "nobody improves their cv by playing/managing in scotland" - Henke's performances for celtic are what got him recognised around europe as a quality striker.
The Doctor Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 One player Is that it? off the top of my head yes, but the point is you said that a move to scotland was in no way beneficial to anyone and yet there is an example of a move to scotland being good for a player.
Jimmy Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 One player Is that it? Neil Lennon, Chris Sutton, John Hartson, Alan Thompson, in fact pretty much all of O'Neill's Celtic had their reputation improved when playing in Scotland
hackneyfox Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 Really? And there was me thinking that they had all been reasonably successful back here in England. You're scottish aren't you? And none of this will change the general perception that Scottish club football is woeful and isn't a place for somebody to go who wants a future in the game back in the real footballing world. Well the premiership

And none of this will change the general perception that Scottish club football is woeful and isn't a place for somebody to go who wants a future in the game back in the real footballing world. Well the premiership Lennie was well respected here but became a star in Scotland, read any media coverage of him they almost never mention us only Celtic No I'm not Scottish I'm just not a total disabled, in that I understand playing for Celtic/Rangers in Europe will do more for someone then playing for us or any other Championship team and a fair few Prem sides as well, when you get outside the "London bubble" you might realise this
DanTheFox07 Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 Really? And there was me thinking that they had all been reasonably successful back here in England. You're scottish aren't you? And none of this will change the general perception that Scottish club football is woeful and isn't a place for somebody to go who wants a future in the game back in the real footballing world. Well the premiership Not everyone`s perception of the spl is the same as your`s quite clearly! Scottish football isn`t as bad as you think, but to be honest i doubt u even follow any of the spl to know the standard of football played anyway? regardless of the needless comparrison to the scottish game, I don`t see vaughan being the way forward to injury prone!
MPH Posted 17 June 2010 Posted 17 June 2010 Why? If he is only on loan what is he going to learn in the Scottish League? 3 games in Europe and out will not help him. The standard is higher in the championship than the SPL and as a young striker he would learn a hell of a lot more in this league be it wit us, Derby or who ever. you answered your own question there, pal. It would be the perfect environment for someone like him to go on loan for a season to pick up match fitness.. Also Home games in front of 58,000 fans, champions league games against the likes of Arsenal... ect last season... I dont care who the opposition is... the chance to play in front of 58,000 people who are fanatical about the team you are playing for... what better way to get a much needed season under your belt.. i mean... yeah.... who would want to go there...
hackneyfox Posted 18 June 2010 Posted 18 June 2010 Playing in front of 58000 people one week and then playing away at the equivalent of an english 3rd tier the next. Even the sweaties admit that their standards are low. If you want to improve your CV and prove yourself against a decent calibre of player don't head north young man.
