James Vaughan

A great prospect who, as people have said, destroy the Championship. Pearson must feel that he can get the best out of him, as he has done with others. I'm sure the first issue for the coaches will be to get him in top shape over the summer and reduce the chance of any injuries. He was never quite a regular for Everton and maybe the stop start nature of his career hasn't helped. If we get him fit and playing he is certainly capable of 20 goals in the Championship.

Would be a cracking signing if true but i highly doubt 1 mill is enough. He has a great future ahead of him IF he can get fully fit, but 1 million is definitely a risk i would take.

Vaughn is the complete striker, strength, pace, height and a good finish. Him and Matty Fryatt would be awesome together, but i can't see it happening too be honest.

Pearson and co pride themselves on the conditioning etc of our players- which is why we dont have too many long injury layoffs (Tunchev and Clem aside)

So hopefully they can sort Vaughan out - good signing!

I suppose it's a bit like deciding whether you would rather jack off into a tissue or on Cheryl Cole's tits..

A rather imaginative way to put things :crylaugh:

But i liked Vaughan, with some match practice during pre season he could become a star. Lets just wait and see.

I'd definately take him, he's looked good when he's played for us barring Peterboro, when he could have chosen a better set of studs :P , but seeing as Everton are looking likely to sign Beckford it looks likely that Vaughan is going to have to look elsewhere. Get him fully fit and he would piss all over this league

I think their will be more teams coming in for him if they decide to sell, it will be well over 1 million for him aswell.

It doesn't surprise me that he's got a reputation as having a bit of an attitude, but look at it this way... is Pearson going to put up with it? No. Not even slightly and if there is even a hint of it from Vaughan, he'll be on the bench faster than he can pull his hamstring.

Aside from that, he looks fast, strong and like he's up for a fight to claim a first team place so I really wouldn't mind getting him up on a permanent.

That said, some have been saying they prefer him over Waggy... not for me. In a toss up between getting one or the other, I'd always go for Waggy but in all honesty, I'd love 'em both!

Apparently Yakubu will be moving from Everton as 2 clubs have made enquiries for him.

Everton are also looking at Jozy Altidore. If Yakubu gets a move, Vaughan will move up the pecking order until Everton sign a striker, if/when they do.

I think Everton are due to announce they have signed Beckford which will limit his chances even more.

I think another loan would be in the interest of both parties. Maybe 6months initially, just because a) He is injury prone b) 1million is a lot for a potential sicknote c) Everton might still have plans for him, but d) He could be awesome for us once fit and confident! LOAN deal please.

with a loan deal you risk what happened with Fulop, could of signed him for £750k but took a loan instead then they jack the price up massively after he performs well.

for a player of his (still) young age £1m is a good deal

If we're going to sign him permantly, it needs to be this summer. If we take him on-loan again he'll be older and more experienced which will up the price! If we sign him and spearing, and a couple of defenders and wingers I'll be happy :scarf:

Yeh I see your point. But he is very injury prone and it's a real gamble, plus 1million is a lot of money for us. I would like him here but I don't want a situation where we sign him and he is in the treatment room most of the season. Fulop has never been injury prone so I think that's different. By taking him on a season long loan, we get, if injury free, a top player for a year for free (wages aside) but we also don't risk paying 1million pounds for a potential sick-note.

I would feel a lot more confident if we had had him on loan longer and he had played more games for us

would love to sign him would be great next year but 1m no way :scarf:

How about a fee rising to 1m with add on's? I can't imagine Everton are insisting on a full 1m up front, it has to be more weighted towards appearences, goals, promotion?

I think you are about right there. will probably only be about 300k initial fee with a hefty fee for promotion and goals and even, dare i say it a cheek add on for making the England team...
