Floating Fox Posted 1 August 2010 Posted 1 August 2010 oddly i agree, but to be honest Tilley should know better, but for whatever reason he is not just walking away like he probably should. To be fair, some of his posts are constructive. He just doesn't help with the nit picking that goes on with Milktray and the way he comes across does make it seem like he'd love to see the group fail ala andy croydz. Most of the critism has been fair and sensible, Finners etc - We know we need to take other fans into accomodation (as was proved yesterday, we could quite easily have told people to **** off when they asked us to move flags - but we aren't arseholes like some people think we are). Obviously people are entitled to their own opinion and there are always going to be people against us. Just I'd prefer constructive critism rather than personal pot-shots etc. Again, some people need to realise that this is a personal message board and people are posting the view of their own not the group as a whole!
Stand UP... Posted 1 August 2010 Posted 1 August 2010 Just wanted to appologise to Valengra for a comment i made on hear last night to him. I didnt realise i quoted him by mistake when replying. Sorry mate
Alexikokopops Posted 1 August 2010 Posted 1 August 2010 How did it go on Saturday? I'm far too lazy to look through the twenty pages of posts that have appeared since I was last on here!
Jodranadinho Posted 1 August 2010 Posted 1 August 2010 How did it go on Saturday? I'm far too lazy to look through the twenty pages of posts that have appeared since I was last on here! yeah it went well, a strong group of around 30 of us marched down to the ground from the pub. Everyone involved looked liked to be having a great time and the walkers didnt sound quiet for 45 minutes with the inclusion of our new songs! I say 45 minutes, because in the second half we all decided to all sit down quietly to show how we are able to co-operate with stewards. The day ended with a slight negative with untrue rumours reaching stringer that we were trying to smuggle in flares hence why we sat down in the second half- which is complete lies. Any how a good first outing and im sure it will only get bigger and better
Mawsley Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 How did it go on Saturday? I'm far too lazy to look through the twenty pages of posts that have appeared since I was last on here! "James Treadwell smuggled in a flare up his arse. It has to be true, I read it on Foxes Talk." was a phrase not heard on Radio Leicester. After that a long thread became even longer, where children and adults (who like to hang around children) managed to conduct themselves in a fashion that makes the Foxes Trust look competent. All in all, a good result for no one.

ACF Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 My two cents worth. I completely support this group, as some of the members of the group may know this already. However, if people dont want to sing, jump, whatever, they don't have to. This is a choice. This is for people who WANT to sing, jump, whatever, Fosse Boys is a way they can do this. It is an Ultra MENTALITY, doesn't mean we are Ultras, just means we enjoy the idea of singing, jumping, whatevering for 90 minutes. I have spoken to LCFC-ARAB numerous times, and he is a genuinely nice bloke. Same with Fosse Boy. I am proud of how quickly they have got this off the ground. Before you shoot people down, talk to them and find out what we're actually about. Tilley, I don't know you, and I'm not trying to start something with you, but I think you should've walked away. All in all, it's not a life or death situation, not really worth arguing about. Alright babes? Alex (15)
purpleronnie Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 I didn't realise it was physically possible to post out your arse either. Why do you even respond to him though?, he's only posting to get a response, just ignore him/her.
Nick Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 As much as I understand some of the misgivings from those who do not buy into our mentality, I'd like to point out that we have done all we can to ensure we don't interfere with other fans on match days. Our decision to base ourselves in the SK1/G1 part of the stadium is part of this. If you look on an ordinary game, you'll see that this area is among the emptiest in the ground, due in part to its having the worst views. Therefore, by basing ourselves there, we will be able to support the club in the way we choose while annoying as few fans as possible. We could have chosen areas of the ground with better views or behind the goal in the traditional Ultra fashion, but we chose not to so as not to impact negatively upon other fans. Another reason for choosing this area of the ground is our commitment to anti-violence. We have no wish to antagonise visiting fans and have no wish to stand with those who do, and as such have decided to stand in the area furthest away from the visiting fans. I understand, though I was never part of it, that this was part of the reason a similar scheme in N Block failed when Coventry fans threw coins at the singing section. We wish to minimise the chances of such confrontations in the future as our aim is purely to support Leicester City, we are not part of the 'who are ya' crowd. We have no wish to be elitist, exclusive or form a clique either. Liam, Dave, Sam etc are all some of the friendliest people you could wish to meet and aim to share the experience of this with as many as possible. We're certainly not about to exclude anyone along tenuous grounds such as race, sexuality or political beliefs. Our only requirements are that fans who stand with us should contribute their voices by singing, share our overall commitments to inclusiveness to all fans and have no wish to commit acts of violence or antagonism. That's it. We're not about to become a political Ultra group that makes anyone who isn't a socialist feel like an outcast and we have fairly basic, common sense requirements. While many of us have made flags, it's not a requirement to be with us. In fact, some members have made extra flags to distribute among those who haven't been able to make their own. Finally, we don't see ourselves as superior to other fans. Anyone who buys a season ticket, goes home and away every week and chooses to give up their weekends spending a fortune is a passionate fan, whether they stand and sing or sit quietly and observe. We just happen to fit into the former category. A lot of this has already been said but I feel there are some misunderstandings that need to be cleared up. Hope this post helps. Bilo..... really ?

theboxman1986 Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 for what it's worth I really enjoyed the ultras and thought they were very entertaining and pleasent. I enjoyed their new songs and wanted to join in but didn't know the words but I tried. Anyway I thought you guys were a credit to the club on saturday and long may you continue. On a personal note how do I join?
Mawsley Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 Just a question....... what do you (Mawsley )gain from, being like this/acting in this manner? Minimum wage, unfortunately, but I'm hoping to be taken on full-time soon and then my salary should rocket. In the meantime, at least I'm discovering what the Ultra-mentality really is...which appears to be basically po-faced and humourless. You collectively respond to suggestions with rudeness, you make fundamental flaws in presentation and you are screwing up a potential future of safe standing. I'd be more than happy for you lot to succeed but you won't because this is being driven by arrogance, a 'we can do what we want because things at the moment are shit'. It isn't. If everything was so shit there wouldn't be 20,000odd people turning up and parting with a wedge. One person hints at this and you surround him with insults and put downs, failing to see the obvious. In the face of this approach people are going to take the piss out of you - even people like me who'd like you to succeed. If you, again 'collectively', can't deal with it (as you appear unable to) then you are pretty much fucked from the off. Whether or not you want a 'leader', you need one and the rest of you need to shut up and let one single person do the talking, one person who manages to respond to things in a positive manner, to be proactive and not reactive.

Oh shut up will you? We want to make things better, and its not what we can do what we want at all, we have guidelines... you don't have to join in. Everyone enjoys watching the football when they go. This is OUR way of enjoying it. If you're gunna criticise, at least be constructive. Or wait until we DO slip up before we do. We ain't done nuffin wrong yet, innit? We're not here to be disruptive!

Guest Bilo Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 Bilo..... really ? Yes, really. Your post earlier was a very valid one and this one was, in part, a response to it. I've always been a stand and sing type of fan, but find that the 'who are ya' mentality that prevails in L1 is not really for me. I find the idea of standing alongside people who are of a similar opinion very attractive, and as a matter of fact the anti-racist ideology that is part of the group was one of the biggest reasons for my joining. Even Leicester UAF have expressed support on the Fosse Boys Facebook page. I've thoroughly enjoyed getting involved with the Fosse Boys over the summer and can't wait for the season to start. As I say though, I respect the opinions you expressed previously and if you wish to PM me, I'll try to respond to any questions you might have.
ACF Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 Bait taken <_< Don't care to be honest. Just sick of seeing people talk drivel about a group that is meant to be fun for people. Leave 'em be.
Fosse Boy Posted 2 August 2010 Author Posted 2 August 2010 Don't care to be honest. Just sick of seeing people talk drivel about a group that is meant to be fun for people. Leave 'em be. I appreciate you're sticking up for us mate and can see why you're so riled given you've contributed a lot to the setting up of the group, but I reckon it'd probably be best now just to ignore him.
James. Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 Although Mawsley has a tendency to atagonise through his turn of phrase he's probably made one of the most pertinent points so far, and that is that you should have a spokesperson who deals with threads like these. Bilo or Fosse Boy would be ideal. I fully support (from 4,500 miles away admittedly) this idea. It's not my cup of tea but there is absolutely no harm in trying, particularly with the level of passion displayed by its members. However the key thing is to direct this passion into the right channels in an eloquent and accessible manner. If not a leader, you certainly need a public spokesperson, I promise you this thread will take an entirely different course if that were the case.

Agreed with that, Bilo and Fosse Boy both put across the aims of the group intelligently and articulately while taking on board what is being said by fellow posters without flying of the handle. It's a shame that this thread has descended into petty squabbling to be honest, at the end of the day we're all wednesday Leicester and untilmately we all want the team to do well. What the Fosse boys are hoping to achieve is going to improve the match day experience for a certain kind of supporter, and with the right help from the club and willingness to co-operate from both parties, I don't see why it can't be achieved. Also, only five days till it all begings for real!
C-man Posted 2 August 2010 Posted 2 August 2010 Like James has said above, I think it's important that there's only one voice from now on that can convey the 'official party-line.' Perhaps discussion on the Fosse Boys forum before answering the critics is what is required. After all, there are some eloquent members of the FBs. One's who could have limited the last 20 pages to 20 posts of (mostly) praise. I think some of the posts over the course of the thread have been harsh on ARAB, after all he's a football fan first and a 'spokesperson' second. I think he's been happy to listen to all quarters and has took a lot on board. The second half of the Sunderland game proves that the group has matured and are willing to toe the line when needed, particularly now during sensitive climes. There's no doubt there have been a few mistakes in here (from a range of members) that have been exacerbated by certain posters, but as the thread has progressed I think ARAB really has dealt with the opposers better and more succinctly. There is only so much he can say before he repeats himself into tedium.
