imagine that Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 And I've also heard that they're planning to fly onto the pitch in a helicopter before the Middlesbrough game. Quote me on this when it happens.
Narborough_fox Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 I'm on holiday, if the announcement is made at the Middlesborough game.
rico Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Hahaha dunno why but made me giggle too couple of seasons ago he would have been buying a load of donkeys too !
Stevosevic Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Net worth of 180 Million USD... http://www.forbes.com/lists/2009/85/thailands-richest-09_Vichai-Raksriaksorn_ZMA9.html To be fair, 180million USD net worth, isn't a great deal so its unlikely they will be throwing money at us. A large amount of that worth is likely to be tied up in assets as well.

richardsfoxes Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Tbh, thats what i was thinking aswell. Bit dissapointed to be fair, there was me thinking we were in line for a massive investment. I suppose if its a consortium there could be around 10 of them all in the same position finacially so maybe thats still on the cards, all im saying is isnt Milan supposed to be worth like around the same sort of money? Lets wait and see who's involved.
Stevosevic Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 That's just one person though. Oh Is it 100% a consortium?
Jackirius Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Is it the one man or the company which is investing?. Its about 112mil sterling which is more than milans 75mil. And milan was just one man so i will wait too see who else is in the 'Consortium' ... Might have been in it with a few more big players and he is just the figurehead?
Liamlcfc1 Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 He looks like the guy in the group pic in Milans box
Cheese Me Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Not thrilled about this if all these details are true. I'd rather keep Milan unless someone is really going to come in and stump up a shed load of cash, and someone worth a bit over £100m isn't going to be doing that much more than Milan. I'd love to see a load of investment that genuinely took us forward but if this is it I can't really see it. There's also nothing whatsoever to suggest it's a consortium other than blind hope.

We'd lose all our identity, attract knobhead fans and lose our current players who deserve another shot. As long as we receive a financial boost to enable us to strengthen our squad slightly and have our debts paid off I would be happy. Two or three signings is all we need to compete at the top of this division as it is. Once, and if, we got to the Prem, the prize money would take care of the rest and we could establish ourselves with that along with some investment. When I look at fans at clubs like Man City obviously there is some jealously but also pity; I’m happy with our ‘hardcore’ support of 22,000 and modest, but talented, squad.
MPH Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 I spy a ladyboy Fantastic stuff. Call our new owners daughter a lady boy. Thats a warm welcome if ever i saw one.
Edmund Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 He looks like the guy in the group pic in Milans box Looks a lot older than the guy in that pic in my opinion.

If (big if) we can pay off the stadium debt then that will be a weight off our shoulders and investment to keep the playing staff competitive and not run into large debts again would suit me.
lcfcsam Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Looks a lot older than the guy in that pic in my opinion. The only similarity is that he is Thai and owns a rather fetching comb over.
Jackirius Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 As reported on BBC East Midlands Today this evening, Milan Mandaric has announced that the takeover by an Asian consortium is progressing and could be completed by next week. I still think their are more to come... Again this guy i reckon is just their figurehead of them all.
richardsfoxes Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 I understand what your saying sam, it just seems like if he does come in. Whats going to improve? Will he invest in the club in all areas, will be continue to rack even more debts onto us and tbh, if he takes over i cant see him being like Milan where atleast he gives interviews and stuff, this guys going be concentrating on his other companies. I just cant understand this investment at all. We'll soon find out i guess...
jonw88 Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 He looks like the guy in the group pic in Milans box Toodaloo mother f***ker! And yes, I know he's chinese and not Thai.

Wholescale changes are not what the club needs right now. As long as its provides stability and some sensible backing in the transfer market I'm happy.

He has just spent 40 million pounds on a football club which is about a quarter of his fortune so he must be serious. The return on football clubs these days isnt massive so i think he must have finance stored somewhere else because if not its a bit of a random buy and he's got himself into his position so must have some common sense and a plan for us. And that is IF it is just him, i still believe their are more in this deal.
foxoffderby Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Im very happy about this. I've texted all my friends who are mostly Liverpool fans. I hope it goes through and we join them in the Premier soon. I hope there are plans to buy back our stadium
Jordan Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 The only question I have is: Why Leicester?!?! I mean, I know why I would buy Leicester... but I wouldn't guess that there's be moreattractive business options (football or otherwise) in which a few guys would splash down a hundred mil or so (including, but not limited to, an army of prostitutes armed with copious amounts of coke).
richardsfoxes Posted 5 August 2010 Posted 5 August 2010 Like i said i completely agree with what your saying, as i believe we are stable at the moment, not finacially but we are progressing in the right direction. Hopefully we'll have more of an idea what going on in the next few days.
